• When the arabs used to arrive in Somalia
  somalians used to say. soo mal this means milk
  the cows. So the arabs called the country
  Somalia. The somalians meant it to mean for them
  to milk the cows because of visitors.

Rivers

• In the south of the country In muqdisho there are
  two rivers called shabelle and jubbah. They start
  in Ethiopia. Flow past muqdisho and finally
  arrive in the Indian ocean.

The meaning of muqdisho is Maq-ad-al-shah (were
the kings rest). The arabs used to rest in
Somalia when they were on trade so they called it
maq-ad-alshah.
Muqdisho is in the south of Somalia. It has lots
of names like Muqdisho , Xamar ,Banadir

• Somalia has a long history in the horn of Africa.
  They lived there for more than 1000 years.
  Faraina called Somalia Bont land. They went there
  for business which involved leather, Ostrich
  feathers, glue perfume for the Egyptian
  royalty. They also called it scent land. They
  used the perfume to make places of worship smell
  nice. For 1000s of years Arabs and percians came
  for business in Saylac , Mogadishu, Marka
  Baraawe. The Arabs made Islam strong. Some of the
  time business men stayed in Somalia after their
  business was done and they became Somalians. The
  canalisation began because it was geographically
  in a strategically good location. The countries
  that were involved were Italy, France the UK.

Religion

• Religion in Somalia was and is really
  important and in Somalia people are 100 Muslim .
  The religion Islam came to Somalia in the fifth
  hijriya. When the prophet (pbuh) told the people
  who were suffering in Mecca because of their
  religion to go to habasha he said go to the
  habasha there is a fair and kind king (Abraha)
  who will make sure you have no troubles while he
  is around.

• Also the business men that came to Somalia were
  the main cause of the religion Islam arriving and
  since then Islam has remained strong. As soon as
  they heard about Islam, they instantly became
  Muslims proudly.

Economy

• Somalia's economy comes from selling animals like
  camels, lambs and cows which are sent to the
  Arabian Gulf. They also sell fruits like Banannas
  , grape fruits mangos and papi.
