Sailing aboard the Spirit of South Carolina

• Dates October 28, 29, 30, 31
• Cost 4000
• Raising the Funds?
• One Possibility is "Help the 5th grade travel on
  the Spirit of South Carolina by ordering a
  Longerberger Travel Mug! 20.00 each with 5.00
  donated to our trip on each mug sold by Jennifer
  Roberts.
• Other ideas?? Parent committee to organize and
  execute securing funds for this trip.

Homework and Agenda

• Students will not be expected to complete more
  than 60 minutes each night.
• 20 minutes of this homework is independent
  reading 5 nights each week.
• Expect math homework most nights Monday-Thursday.
  
• Your child is expected to fill in his/her agenda
  daily. Please review your childs agenda each day
• Homework is posted in every classroom, everyday
  on the whiteboard.

Missing Assignments

• Students will call home and leave a message if
  they have not completed an assignment.
• They will record the date, the time, and the
  assignment on a phone log in each classroom.
• Please provide your childs homeroom teacher
  with an accurate number for this purpose.

Wednesday Folders

• Weekly papers will go home with your child each
  Wednesday. Please ask for and expect these.
• Please feel free to write comments about your
  area(s) of concern on the cover sheet only
  please.
• Return the cover sheet with a parent signature
• Students will select and return, with the help of
  their parents, one assignment that they would
  like to add to their portfolio.

Arrival/Dismissal to School

• Students may enter the building beginning at 700
  A.M. and they will report immediately to their
  homeroom.
• Instruction begins at 720 A.M.
• If your child is not in the classroom by the 720
  bell, he/she will need to check in at the school
  office before coming to class as he/she is
  considered tardy. Students MUST have a pass from
  the attendance office.
• Students riding bikes will park them on the left
  side when facing the building.
• Drop off and pick up for 5th grade is in the back
  of the building.

When student is Absent
Please be sure to send in an absent note within 3
days of the your childs absence.
