  • Language Arts
  • 4 days per story
  • Literature Circles
  • Class sets of Novels for Novel Studies
  • Spelling-Packet will come home on Tuesday and is
    due the following Monday. Spelling tests will be
    on Tuesdays.
  • Reading Renaissance/Accelerated Reader
  • English-We do Daily Language each morning in
    addition to our English lessons. Students take a
    weekly quiz on the daily language on Mondays.
  • Science/Mrs. RennickEmphasis on Physical
    Sciences
  • Math Multiplication, Division, Geometry
  • Social StudiesEarly U.S. History leading up to
    the Civil War

Daily Routine
  • Sign In (lunch and attendance)
  • Take Care of Business (unpack, lunch money,
    sharpen pencils, etc.)
  • Copy Homework and Turn in Homework Folder
  • Go to Breakfast (if needed)
  • Morning Work Assignments
  • WBRE News
  • See schedule
  • Snacks at 235-during recess

Absences/Early Dismissal
  • All absences require a written note stating
    reason for absence-see BRE handbook
  • Make-up work can be picked up at the end
  • of the day (after 330).
  • Worked is saved in a folder students expected to
    see me about missed work.
  • Long-term absences see BRE handbook
  • Weeks notice to get lessons together
  • Please try to make appointments after 330. I
    teach until 325 every day.

  • Binders
  • All corrected class work
  • All corrected homework
  • All handouts
  • All study notes
  • Cleaned out after every unit/chapter

Homework
  • Homework folder turned in daily. Please initial
    each night.
  • Left pocket is for homework, notes, etc.
  • Right side is for student, cleaned out weekly.
  • Weekly assignment sheet in the middle.
  • Students record homework from board daily.
  • Homework should never exceed 60 minutes
  • Newsletter comes home on Mondays.

Classroom Behavior/4th Grade Discipline Plan
  • Discipline book signed for
  • Not following rules
  • Not turning in homework
  • First time - verbal warning (after 1 verbal
    warning)
  • Second time, same day - clip moved to yellow.
  • Third time on same dayclip moved to red, student
    spends recess in detention, action plan written,
    note to parent (please sign and return)
  • No homework is automatic red light and loss of
    entire recess.

Weekly Conduct Report
  • Sign and Return Blue Folders
  • Sent home on Wednesdays. Beginning Aug. 23rd.
  • Sign Form and Return Papers by Friday
  • Maintained for 9 weeks

Grading Procedure
  • A 100-90
  • B 89-80
  • C 79-73
  • D 72-70
  • F 69 and below
  • Chapter/Unit tests count double
  • L.A. Grade 70/20/10 (Reading, English,
    Spelling)
  • 10 points off per day for graded assignments
    turned in late (until a grade of 60)

  • Sign and return Progress Reports
  • Computer print outs
  • Sign and return envelope, keep Report Card
  • Reading Renaissance reports sent each time
  • Keep for reference

  • We will take the bus for all field trips this
    year. I will need chaperons.
