The Arboretum offers the Hughes Education
Center, the Beckwith Grand Pavilion, the Jones
Memorial Gazebo and acres of beautiful gardens to
make your day most memorable. An indoor
outdoor rental facility.

The Iowa Arboretum is a rental facility only. We
do not make the wedding arrangements such as
catering, flowers, decorations, etc.

Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed,
Something Blue. If you follow this tradition,
odds are that youll be wearing all of these
things on your wedding day. The old stands for a
brides ties to her past the new is her hope for
the future the borrowed means friendship and
the blue is for faithfulness.
If you have reserved the Arboretum for your
reception, you will have access to the kitchen
facilities. You can use the coffeemakers, but
the dishes, silverware and tablecloths are not
available for weddings. We do not have a list of
approved caterers, you can arrange to have the
caterer of your choice.

The use of the following equipment
is included in the rental fees 250

rectangular tables at your
disposal. We are limited in the sound
equipment that we can provide for your wedding
and/or reception. Please check with Mr. Lantz to
see if our equipment will meet your needs. If
not, it will be your responsibility to secure
and set up the sound equipment you bring to the
Arboretum.

The Iowa Arboretum is open to the public. This
holds true even when the facilities are reserved
for weddings. Whenever possible we will request
that visitors avoid the wedding area, but they
have every right to walk the grounds, be in the
lobby or gift shop and use the restrooms. We
will not schedule bus tours during the time of
the wedding and will do our utmost to help make
your wedding day a very special occasion.

Wedding Fees (Prices Subject to Change) Any
Wedding 650.00 Any Reception 850.00 Combinat
ion of Both 1,400.00 If you are having
an outside wedding only (no reception) and are
concerned about inclement weather, you may use
the Hughes Education Center in case the ceremony
would need to move indoors. A 150.00 deposit
is required at the time the date is reserved for
your special day. This deposit will reserve your
date and will also be held as a damage deposit.
This deposit is to be paid in addition to the
wedding fees listed above. Following the event
(within 7-10 days) the deposit will be returned
provided the facilities are left undamaged. We
do accept MasterCard VISA
Please keep the areas around the ceremony site
and building clean.

Buildings grounds must be cleaned up and
vacated by 1100 p.m. An Arboretum staff
member will be on hand to direct parking, drive
the personnel carrier and secure the building at
the end of the evening.
Rules We do not permit alcohol and
reserve the right to call the Sheriffs Dept. if
needed. The buildings can be reserved at no
extra charge the day before the ceremony from
100 p.m. 700 p.m. for decorating and/or
rehearsal. Arrangements must be made in
advance for this option. If you want the use of
the buildings before or after the times listed,
there will be an additional charge of
25.00/hour. Any wedding directional signs that
have been placed along the roadway to the
Arboretum must be removed after the wedding. No
colored paper or ribbon may be attached to the
arbors, gazebo or pavilion. We recommend the
use of freestanding flower arrangements. All
decorations are to be removed following the
wedding.
Please plan to assist the Arboretum staff
with chair and table set up, both indoors
outdoors. This will ensure that it is arranged
to your specifications and will also provide
assistance to the staff on duty. The Iowa
Arboretum is not responsible for lost, stolen or
damaged items.
