NEW TOPIC
HAVE YOUR SAY
Weve sent out a quality survey to a random
selection of parents but if you want to get
involved ask at the office for your own copy.
My World is our new topic. Well be learning all
about ourselves and our friends, looking at
similarities and differences in our emotions and
how to show them and how to look after ourselves
and stay healthy. Well learn all about our
family members and how to construct a family
tree. Well be talking about our homes, the
different rooms and what they contain, where we
live and the local amenities around us and what
jobs our parents do.
2
Room Swap
Now weve changed the rooms around we are really
please with the results. The babies have a
smaller room creating a more homely environment
and the pre-school children have a larger room
enjoying free flow access into the gardens. The
gardens are also undergoing change benefiting
from new areas and additions giving pre-school
access to extra outdoor resources to enhance
their learning. The babies are enjoying the
smaller group but staffing levels remain the same
and the upstairs Sleep Room is also proving
popular. We hope you all share our enthusiasm
for the changes
READ ALL ABOUT IT!

LEARNING AT HOME If youd like to extend your
childs learning at home heres a few ideas that
link in with our nursery activities.
HOW DO YOU FEEL? Talk about different feelings
such as happy or sad, scared or angry. Show your
child a face to go with each feeling. Take turns
to guess each others feelings by the faces you
pull.
HOW BIG AM I?
MY BODY
Look in a mirror together and point to the
different body parts or features for your child
to name. Talk about what each part does.
Draw around your childs and your own hand or
foot to compare sizes. Cut these shapes out and
use them to measure how big objects are or how
tall your child is, counting how many hands high
or wide each thing is
