  • Provide General information on Movement
    Entitlements for Active Duty Military and DOD
    Civilians, who are moving from the Washington DC
    National Capital Region to Huntsville, AL under
    BRAC.

Personal Property Shipping Entitlements for all
DOD employees
  • Authorized Weight Entitlement
  • Active Duty Military 500-18,000lbs Entitlement
    is based on Rank/Rate
  • DOD Civilians 18,000 lbs
  • Shipping location
  • Active Duty Military Old (PDS) Permanent Duty
    Station to new PDS
  • DOD Civilians Old PDS to New PDS
  • Storage entitlement
  • Active Duty Military 90 to 360 days Storage in
    Transit at government expense
  • DOD Civilians 90 days at government expense

MODES OF SHIPMENT
  • GOVERNMENT BILL OF LADING (GBL)
  • SELF-PROCURED MOVE (You hire Carrier)
  • Government provides some reimbursement
  • Personal Procured Move (PPM) or DO-IT-YOURSELF
    MOVE (DITY)
  • Active duty can combine GBL move and a DITY move
    subject to excess cost.
  • DOD Civilians Not authorize DITY move.

PERSONAL PROPERTY PROCESSING OFFICES
  • Personnel are AUTHORIZED to use any of the 13
    Processing Office's of their own choice. The
    outbound scheduling office at Fort Belvoir has a
    courier who picks up requests from all the PPPOs
    for movement on a daily basis.
  • Some of the Processing Offices work by
    appointment only. Please call before journeying
    into the office.
