• Breed in March and April
• Dont mate for life
• Born in spring
• Learn to swim at 3 mouth
• Adult at 1 year
• Live to be 23 years old

Habitat/Shelter

• Throughout much of North America from Floridas,
  Everglades to cold Alaskan rivers
• Rivers stream and lakes
• Make home in burrow
• In river bank
• Under rocky ledges
• In abandoned dens

Diet

• Fish, frogs, crabs and turtles
• Birds, rodents, rabbits, crayfish
• Catch with teeth
• Cubs drink mothers milk

Adaptations

• Ran at nearly 20 miles per hour
• Use paws to handle objects
• Spend mach time playing
• Long body short dark
