2Intelligence for Temptation
Genesis 3
Genesis 31-7
3He maximizes the restriction.
- Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of
the field which the Lord God had made. And he
said to the woman
4Indeed, has God said, You shall not eat from
any tree of the garden?
5From the fruit of the trees of the garden we may
eat but from the fruit of the tree which is in
the middle of the garden, God has said, You
shall not eat from it or touch it, lest you die.
6He minimizes the consequences of sin.
7You shall not surely die!
8He re-labels the action.
9For God knows that in the day you eat from it
your eyes will be opened, and you will be like
God, knowing good and evil.
10- How does Satan persuade a person that sin is not
a sin? - He just gives it another name!
- He promises another outcome!
11He accentuates the desirability of sin.
12- When the woman saw that the tree was good for
food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and
that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she
took from its fruit and ate and she gave also to
her husband with her, and he ate. (Genesis 36)
13He assumes the place of God.
14- The real evil of sin is seen not in the mere
exchange of a right act for a wrong one, the
substitute of one law for another law. The real
evil of sin is in the assassination of the
character of God! - Satan could not kill Eve, until he had first
killed God! And when he had successfully
killed God, Eve was like putty in His hands!
15Dont let what happened to Adam and Eve happen to
you!
