THE GENESIS OF THE ARABS THEIR SOURCE FOR
HATRED FOR THE JEWS
  • 161. Now Sarai, Abram's wife, bare him no
children. And she had a handmaid, an Egyptian,
    whose name was Hagar.
  • 2. And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now,
Jehovah hath restrained me from bearing. Go in, I
pray thee, unto my handmaid. It may be that I
shall obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened
    to the voice of Sarai.
  • 3. And Sarai, Abram's wife, took Hagar the
Egyptian, her handmaid, after Abram had dwelt ten
years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to
Abram her husband to be his wife.

4
  • 4. And he went in unto Hagar, and she
conceived. And when she saw that she had
conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.
  • 5. And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon
thee. I gave my handmaid into thy bosom. And when
she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in
her eyes. Jehovah judge between me and thee
  • 6. But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid
is in thy hand. Do to her that which is good in
thine eyes. And Sarai dealt hardly with her, and
    she fled from her face.

5
ABRAM GROWS AND RECEIVES ADDITIONAL REVELATION-
HIS NAME IS CHANGED
  • 17 1. And when Abram was ninety years old and
nine, Jehovah appeared to Abram, and said unto
him, I am God Almighty. Walk before me, and be
    thou perfect.
  • 2. And I will make my covenant between me and
thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.
  • 3. And Abram fell on his face. And God talked
    with him, saying
  • 4. As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee,
and thou shalt be the father of a multitude of
    nations.
  • .

6
GOD CHANGES ABRAMS NAME
  • 5. Neither shall thy name any more be called
Abram, but they name shall be Abraham. For the
father of a multitude of nations have I made
    thee.
  • 6. And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and
I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come
    out of thee.
  • 7. And I will establish my covenant between me
and thee and thy seed after thee, throughout
their generations for an everlasting convenant,
to be a God unto thee and to thy seed after thee

7
SARAH, FEARING THE FAMILY BLESSING COULD GO TO
ISHMAEL, DEMANDS HAGARS AND ISHMAELS EXILE
  • Gen. 2110. Wherefore she said unto Abraham,
Cast out this handmaid and her son. For the son
of this handmaid shall not be heir with my son,
    even with Isaac.
  • 11. And the thing was very grievous in
Abraham's sight on account of his son.
  • 12. And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be
grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and
because of thy handmaid. In all that Sarah saith
unto thee, hearken unto her voice. For in Isaac
    shall thy seed be called.
  • 13. And also of the son of the handmaid will I
make a nation, because he is thy seed.

8
14. And Abraham rose up early in the morning,
and took bread and a bottle of water, and gave it
unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and gave
her the child, and sent her away. And she
departed, and wandered in the wilderness of
Beer-sheba. 15. And the water in the bottle
was spent, and she cast the child under one of
the shrubs. 16. And she went, and sat her down
over against him a good way off, as it were a
bowshot. For she said, Let me not look upon the
death of the child. And she sat over against him,
and lifted up her voice, and wept.
9
17. And God heard the voice of the lad. And the
angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and
said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? Fear not.
For God hath heard the voice of the lad where he
is. 18. Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him
in thy hand. For I will make him a great nation.
19. And God opened her eyes, and she saw a
well of water. And she went, and filled the
bottle with water, and gave the lad drink. 20.
And God was with the lad, and he grew. And he
dwelt in the wilderness, and became, as he grew
up, an archer.
10
JESUS ON ABRAHAMS FAITH
  • John 8 56. Your father Abraham rejoiced to see
my day and he saw it, and was glad.
  • 57. Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not
yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
  • 58. Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say
unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. (the res.
    life)
  • 59. Then took they up stones to cast at him
but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the
temple, going through the midst of them, and so
    passed by

11
SUMMARY It has Been Demonstrated That God is
Able and Will Keep His promise Regardless of Any
And All Complications
  • 1. Protection from the flood (Gen. 6-10)
  • 2. From the untied power of the world (11)
  • 3. Weakness of human flesh marriage
    entanglements (12)
  • 4. Frustration of sterility and human wisdom (16)
  • 5. Family rivalry and deceit (24)
  • 6. Sibling jealousy and injustice (37)
  • 7. Refusal to bear children (Er Onan) (38)
  • 8. Adultery and capital punishment (38)
  • 9. Death decree of male seed by Pharaoh (Ex. 1)
  • 10. Slaying the actual seed (N.T.)

Abrahams Faith is Proved Genesis 221-19 Hebrews
1117,18
13
Learn 1. Faith Proving Hurts
  • 1. And it came to pass after these things, that
God did prove Abraham, and said unto him,
Abraham. And he said, Here am I. (Cp. Mary) 2.
And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son,
whom thou lovest, even Isaac, and get thee into
the land of Moriah. And offer him there for a
burnt-offering upon one of the mountains which I
    will tell thee of.
  • Heb. 1211. Now no chastening for the present
seemeth to be joyous, but grievous nevertheless
afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of
righteousness unto them which are exercised
    thereby.

14
The Trial of Faith is A Lonely Burden
  • and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac
    his son.
  • But He didnt share his problem.

15
How the Faithful Manage the Pain
  • Faith Sees Gods Healing Beyond the Hurt
  • 5. And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye
here with the ass, and I and the lad will go
yonder and we will worship, and come again to
    you.

THE DOME OF THE ROCK A MUSLIM MOSQUE STANDS OVER
THE ROCK WHERE ABRAHAM OFFERED ISAAC A SOURCE
OF SHAME HATE
17
Mosque of Omar The Mosque of Omar was built in
the late 600s, about 600 years after the Romans
destroyed the temple.  Omar was the
caliph-successor of Muhammad who captured
Jerusalem from the Eastern Roman Empire. (the
last emperor of the western part of the Roman

18
The Mosque of Omar is called the Dome of the

sacrificial altar of the temple stood. The rock
contains four deep holes where the blood from the
sacrifices once flowed. In Muslim legends these
are the hoof prints of Al Boraq (meaning "the
lightning") the horse that carries Muhammad to
heaven in a vision. (In actual life Muhammad
never visited Jerusalem. He was only there in a
vision.)
19
By 1453 the eastern Roman Empire had long since
lost most of its territory to the Muslims. In
1453 the Turks captured Constantinople (today
Istanbul, Turkey), the capital city of the
eastern Roman or Byzantine Empire).
20
What Is God-Approved Faith?
  • 2212 For now I know that thou fearest God
  • 1. When we love God more than life
  • Eccl. 1213 Jn. 1415 Mt. 2237
  • 2. When we believe God will keep His promise
    regardless of death.
  • 2. When we believe God has resurrected His Son
    after death.

21
The Writer of Hebrews on Abraham
  • By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up
Isaac and he that had received the promises
offered up his only begotten son,
  • 18. Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall
    thy seed be called
  • 19. Accounting that God was able to raise him
up, even from the dead from whence also he
    received him in a figure.

22
  • THERE IS NO ACCEPTABLE SAVING FAITH WHERE THERE
IS NO PRACTICE OF THAT FAITH IN THIS LIFE
  • James 217 Even so faith, if it hath not works,
    is dead, being alone.
  • God knew Abraham feared (respected and honored)
Him when his faith in the after life translated
    into obedience in this life.
  • The same is true for believers in all ages.
  • John 1415 If you love me, keep my
    commandments

23
Abrahams Test of Faith and Ours
  • Rm. 121 ---present your bodies a living
sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your
    spiritual service.
  • 2. And be not fashioned according to this
world but be ye transformed by the renewing of
your mind, and ye may prove what is the good and
acceptable and perfect will of God.

24
God is Sovereign When Selecting the Channel for
the Promise
  • No question that Abraham Understood that the
Calling was in Isaac, not Ishmael, even though
    Isaac was the younger Son
  • 5. And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.

25
Sovereignty is shown Also in Selection of Jacob
over Esau
  • Gen. 25 21. And Isaac intreated the Lord for
his wife, because she was barren and the Lord
was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife
    conceived.
  • 22. And the children struggled together within
her and she said, If it be so, why am I thus?
And she went to inquire of the Lord.
  • 23. And the Lord said unto her, Two nations are
in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be
separated from thy bowels and the one people
shall be stronger than the other people and the
    elder shall serve the younger.

26
Sovereignty Prevails Over Family sins
  • 27. And the boys grew and Esau was a cunning
hunter, a man of the field and Jacob was a plain
    man, dwelling in tents.
  • 28. And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of
his venison but Rebekah loved Jacob.

Problem Parental Favoritism God had revealed
that the elder would serve the younger
27
  • 29. And Jacob sod pottage and Esau came from
the field, and he was faint
  • 30. And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray
thee, with that same red pottage for I am faint
therefore was his name called Edom.
  • 31. And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy
    birthright.

28
  • 32. And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to
die and what profit shall this birthright do to
    me?
  • 33. And Jacob said, Swear to me this day and
he sware unto him and he sold his birthright
    unto Jacob.
  • 34. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of
lentiles and he did eat and drink, and rose up,
and went his way thus Esau despised his
    birthright.

29
Ancient Religious Background of Modern Terrorism
30
The Source of Hatred lies in the disputed
selection process for the heir of
Abraham Which wife of Abraham was it by? Was it
Ishmael by the slave woman? Or was it Isaac by
the free woman?
\
31
The Arabs Claim Ishmael Was the heir Apparent.
They affirm
  • 1. Ishmael was the eldest son by 14 years
    (Genesis 215).
  • 2. He was included in the covenant by
    circumcision. (Genesis 1725)
  • 3. Muhammad tops Moses and Jesus as prophet and
    his word is superior theirs.
  • 4. The Pentateuch has been edited and is
    unreliable.
  • 5. It was Ishmael that Abraham offered instead of
    Isaac.
  • Moriah (Jerusalem) is third to Mecca and Medina
    as a sacred site)
  • 6. Abraham felt great affection for Ishmael
    (Genesis 17, 18)

32
Contrary to this God had Specifically Informed
Abraham Concerning the true Heir
  • 1718 And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael
    might live before thee!
  • 19. And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear
thee a son indeed and thou shalt call his name
Isaac and I will establish my covenant with him
    for an everlasting covenant

33
When the Argument Arose
  • The next event, scripturally recorded, concerning
Ishmael occurs during Isaac's weaning, when he
two years old (Genesis 218, sq.). This was a
happy occasion Abraham gave a feast, no doubt to
    express his joy.
  • 218. And the child grew, and was weaned and
Abraham made a great feast the same day that
    Isaac was weaned.
  • 9. And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian,
which she had born unto Abraham, mocking. This
angered Sarah who saw it and said to Abraham,
"Cast out this bondswoman and her son for the
son of this bondswoman shall not be heir with my
son, even with Isaac." Sarah apparently wanted to
make certain that Isaac was Abraham's heir, which
coincides with Abraham sending away other
children that other wives bore him after Sarah's
    death.

34
God Selects Between Abrahams Sons. The Blessing
Goes to Isaac, not Ishmael
  • 2112 And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be
grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and
because of thy bondwoman in all that Sarah hath
said unto thee, hearken unto her voice for in
Isaac shall thy seed be called.
  • 13. And also of the son of the bondwoman will I
make a nation, because he is thy seed.
  • 14. And Abraham rose up early in the morning,
and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave
it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and
the child, and sent her away and she departed,
and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.

35
Abrahams Understanding Caused Him to Separates
All Other Sons from Isaac
  • 254. And the sons of Midian Ephah, and Epher,
and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were
    the children of Keturah.
  • 5. And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.
  • 6. But unto the sons of the concubines, which
Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them
away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived,
    eastward, unto the east country.

36
Revelation Shows Divine Selection in a Specific
Grandchild of Abraham.
  • 2521 And Isaac intreated the Lord for his
wife, because she was barren and the Lord was
intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
  • 22. And the children struggled together within
her and she said, If it be so, why am I thus?
And she went to inquire of the Lord.
  • 23. And the Lord said unto her, Two nations are
in thy womb, (Israelites, Moabites) and two
manner of people shall be separated from thy
bowels and the one people shall be stronger than
the other people and the elder shall serve the
    younger.
  • 26. and his name was called Jacob and Isaac was
threescore years old when she bare them.

37
Evidence that Esau was Unworthy of the
Birthright
  • 2529. And Jacob sod pottage and Esau came from
the field, and he was faint 30. And Esau said to
Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red
pottage for I am faint therefore was his name
called Edom. 31. And Jacob said, Sell me this day
thy birthright. 32. And Esau said, Behold, I am
at the point to die and what profit shall this
birthright do to me? 32And Jacob said, Swear to
me this day and he sware unto him and he sold
his birthright unto Jacob. 33. Then Jacob gave
Esau bread and pottage of lentiles and he did
eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way
    thus Esau despised his birthright.

38
Selection Cannot be Offset by Human Preference or
Willnot even a Father
  • REGARDLESS OF DIVINE REVELATION, ISAAC SEEMS
DETERMINED TO GIVE THE BLESSING TO ESAU
  • 271. And it came to pass, that when Isaac was
old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not
see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said unto
him, My son and he said unto him, Behold, here
am I. 2. And he said, Behold now, I am old, I
know not the day of my death3. Now therefore
take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and
thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me
some venison4. And make me savoury meat, such
as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat
that my soul may bless thee before I die.
  • How could Jacob do this?
  • 2527. And the boys grew and Esau was a cunning
hunter, a man of the field and Jacob was a plain
man, dwelling in tents. 28. And Isaac loved
Esau, because he did eat of his venison but
    Rebekah loved Jacob.

39
Right Goal, but Wrong Way
  • 275 And Rebekah heard when Isaac spake to Esau
his son. And Esau went to the field to hunt for
    venison, and to bring it.
  • 6. And Rebekah spake unto Jacob her son,
saying, Behold, I heard thy father speak unto
    Esau thy brother, saying,
  • 7. Bring me venison, and make me savoury meat,
that I may eat, and bless thee before the Lord
    before my death.
  • 8. Now therefore, my son, obey my voice
according to that which I command thee.
  • 12. My father peradventure will feel me, and I
shall seem to him as a deceiver and I shall
bring a curse upon me, and not a blessing. 13.
And his mother said unto him, Upon me be thy
curse, my son only obey my voice, and go fetch
    me them.

40
Jacob And His Mother Earn the Hatred of Esau
  • At the time Jacob received the blessing he still
had not committed himself to live by faith in
God. Though God had designated Jacob as heir of
Abraham's blessing shortly before his birth
(2523), Jacob and his mother were both weak in
faith and resorted to deceit to obtain the
blessing from Isaac (Genesis 27). This earned
Jacob the hatred of his brother. Esau seethed
with anger and set out to kill him (2741)

41
Esau Could Not Regain the Loss of the Blessing
  • Hebrews 1216 Lest there be any fornicator, or
profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of
    meat sold his birthright.
  • 17. For ye know how that afterward, when he
would have inherited the blessing, he was
rejected for he found no place of repentance,
though he sought it carefully with tears.

42
Prophecy about Esau
2740. And by thy sword shalt thou live, and
shalt serve thy brother. 41. And Esau hated
Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his
father blessed him and Esau said in his heart,
The days of mourning for my father are at hand
then will I slay my brother Jacob.
43
Out of Spite, Esau Marries into the Ishmaelites
  • 288. And Esau seeing that the daughters of
Canaan pleased not Isaac his father
  • 9. Then went Esau unto Ishmael, and took unto
the wives which he had Mahalath the daughter of
Ishmael Abraham's son, the sister of Nebajoth, to
    be his wife.

44
These Were Bitter Enemies of Jacob by Time of
David
  • Psa. 832 For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult
and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
  • 3. They have taken crafty counsel against thy
people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.
  • 4. They have said, Come, and let us cut them
off from being a nation that the name of Israel
may be no more in remembrance.
  • 5. For they have consulted together with one
consent they are confederate against thee
  • 6. The tabernacles of Edom, and the
Ishmaelites of Moab, and the Hagarenes
  • 7. Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek the
Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre

45
The Blessed promise was to A Faithful Israel . .
. BUT
  • They Failed to Drive the enemy out
  • They assimilated the heathens culture and
    worshipped their gods.
  • They killed their own prophets.
  • They killed their own Messiah.
  • They made the Temple of worship a den of
    merchandise
  • Their city was destroyed and tribal identity lost

46
Because Israel Did Not Keep Faith Ezekial Said
  • Ez. 941. And he (he who seeks possession of the
land) shall plant the tabernacles of his palace
    between the seas. . .
  • in the glorious holy mountain
  • This means because of submitting to other
religions and unfaithfulness in general, the
Jewish Temple in Jerusalem would be torn down
    and replaced by another.

47
Jesus Added to the Prophecy
  • Mt. 241 His disciples came to him for to shew
him the buildings of the temple.
  • 2. And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all
these things? verily I say unto you, There shall
not be left here one stone upon another, that
    shall not be thrown down.
  • Jesus The temple will be destroyed.
  • EzekielAliens will build theirs in its place

since!
ARABS NO! Its ours. We were here before you were.
JEWS Its ours We were here before you were!
The present jihad was held in abeyance for
centuries because of foreign domination of the
lands. They are now independent nations
53
History Has Demonstrated
  • Neither the Arabs resistance to the selection of
    Grace, nor
  • The Israelites unfaithfulness prevented Jehovah
    from fulfilling His promises

54
God is Faithful He Has Fulfilled Every Promise
made to Abraham in Christ
  • Both Earthly and Spiritual

God kept the Land promise God kept the posterity
promise God has kept the Seed promise All nations
have been blessed
I Cr. 120. For all the promises of God in him
are yea, and in him Amen, There fore the
Christian knows
55
THE FACTS MAKE THE CLAIM FOR PALESTINE AS A
DIVINE RIGHT FOR ANYONE IS NO MORE IRRELEVANT.
NEITHER JEW, ARAB OR CHRISTIAN HAS A LIGITIMATE
DIVINE CLAIM FOR THE GEOGRAPHY OF THE LAND SINCE
CHRIST. TO WAGE A TERRORIST CAMPAIGN FOR THE
LAND, CALLING IT A JIHAD OR HOLY WAR INVOLVING
NATIONS IS A CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY BASED ON
HATRED, SELFISHNESS AND DECEPTION. THE ARABS
HATRED FOR THE JEWS IS SO INTENSE THAT THEY
SACRIFICE THEIR CHILDREN TO KILL JEWS AND ANYONE
WHO LENDS SUPPORT TO THE JEWS.

Jacobs Struggles Leads to the Discovery of the
Greatest Blessing of all
  • His struggle for the birthright of the first born
  • His struggle with his brother at birth
  • His struggle with God for the divine blessing.

    1) His dream.
  • 2) His Vision
  • IV. The origin of the name Israel

Esau Aptly Describes The Former Man Jacob, the
Supplanter
  • 27 36. (ESAU) And he said, Is not he rightly
named Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two
times he took away my birthright and, behold,
now he hath taken away my blessing.
  • Although weak in faith, Jacob has a quality that
will earn him a new Name He desires the best in
life and will struggle to get it. He doesnt
realize here what the best thing is

59
But Jacob Makes an Amazing Discovery
  • God reveals to him that the best part of the
blessings is not in a Dwelling Place Here but in
    the dwelling place of God
  • God Renews the covenant with Jacob in a Dream
  • 28 14. And thy seed shall be as the dust of the
earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west,
and to the east, and to the north, and to the
south and in thee and in thy seed shall all the
families of the earth be blessed. Heres where we
    come in!

Jacobs Awareness Grows But is Still Limited
  • 2816. And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and
he said, Surely the Lord is in this place and I
knew it not. 17. And he was afraid, and said,
How dreadful is this place! this is none other
but the house of God, and this is the gate of
heaven. 18. And Jacob rose up early in the
morning, and took the stone that he had put for
his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and
poured oil upon the top of it. 19. And he
called the name of that place Bethel but the
name of that city was called Luz at the first.
  • 20. And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will
be with me, and will keep me in this way that I
go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to
put on, 21. So that I come again to my father's
house in peace then shall the Lord be my God
    22. And this stone, which I have set for a
pillar, shall be God's house and of all that
thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth
    unto thee.

Hatred and Envy Falls OUT to the Fulfilling of
the Word
  • 3. Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his
children, because he was the son of his old age
and he made him a coat of many colours.
  • 4. And when his brethren saw that their father
loved him more than all his brethren, they hated
him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.
  • 5. And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it
his brethren and they hated him yet the more.

Gods Word Cannot Be Offset by Destroying Joseph
  • NOT BY HIS BRETHREN WHO HATED HIM
  • 3719. And they said one to another, Behold,
    this dreamer cometh.
  • 20. Come now therefore, and let us slay him,
and cast him into one of the pits, and we will

shall see what will become of his dreams.
  • 21. And Reuben heard it, and delivered him out

prison. 21. But Jehovah was with Joseph, and
showed kindness unto him, and gave him favor in
the sight of the keeper of the prison. 22. And
the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's
hand all the prisoners that were in the prison
and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of
it. 23. The keeper of the prison looked not
to anything that was under his hand, because
Jehovah was with him and that which he did,
    Jehovah made it prosper.

Genuine Repentance
  • 4431. It shall come to pass, when he seeth that
the lad is not with us, that he will die and thy
servants shall bring down the gray hairs of thy
servant our father with sorrow to the grave.
  • 32. For thy servant became surety for the lad
unto my father, saying, If I bring him not unto
thee, then I shall bear the blame to my father
    for ever.
  • 33. Now therefore, I pray thee, let thy servant
abide instead of the lad a bondman to my lord
and let the lad go up with his brethren.
  • (Judah had saved Josephs life, 3726)
  • 34. For how shall I go up to my father, and the
lad be not with me? lest peradventure I see the
evil that shall come on my father.

Josephs View of All that had Happened
  • 455. Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry
with yourselves, that ye sold me hither for God
did send me before you to preserve life.
  • 6. For these two years hath the famine been in
the land and yet there are five years, in the
which there shall neither be earing nor harvest.
  • 7. And God sent me before you to preserve you a
posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by
    a great deliverance.
  • 8. So now it was not you that sent me hither,
but God and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh,

JOSEPH DIES IN EGYPT B UT DESIRES TO BE MOVED.
20. But as for you, ye thought evil against me
but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as
it is this day, to save much people alive. 21.
Now therefore fear ye not I will nourish you,
and your little ones. And he comforted them, and
spake kindly unto them. 22. And Joseph dwelt in
Egypt, he, and his father's house and Joseph
lived an hundred and ten years. 23. And Joseph
saw Ephraim's children of the third generation

Joseph said unto his brethren, I die and God
will surely visit you, and bring you out of this
land unto the land which he sware to Abraham, to
Isaac, and to Jacob. 25. And Joseph took an oath
of the children of Israel, saying, God will
surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones
from hence. 26. So Joseph died, being an
hundred and ten years old and they embalmed him,
and he was put in a coffin in Egypt.

him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and
daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the
child therein and she laid it in the flags by
the river's brink.
4. And his sister stood afar off, to wit what
would be done to him. 5. And the daughter of
Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river
and her maidens walked along by the river's side
and when she saw the ark among the flags, she
sent her maid to fetch it. 6. And when she had
opened it, she saw the child and, behold, the

Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew
women, that she may nurse the child for thee? 8.
And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the
maid went and called the child's mother. 9. And
Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this child
away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee
thy wages. And the woman took the child, and
nursed it. 10. And the child grew, and she
brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he
became her son. And she called his name Moses
and she said, Because I drew him out of the
water. 11. And it came to pass in those days,
when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his
brethren, and looked on their burdens and he
spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his
brethren. 12. And he looked this way and that
way, and when he saw that there was no man, he
slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.

God Calls Moses
1. Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father
in law, the priest of Midian and he led the
flock to the backside of the desert, and came to
the mountain of God, even to Horeb.
2. And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him
in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush
and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with
fire, and the bush was not consumed. 3. And
Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this
great sight, why the bush is not burnt. 4.
And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to
see, God called unto him out of the midst of the
bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here
am I. 5. And he said, Draw not nigh hither put
off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place
whereon thou standest is holy ground.
