Matan and Noam Ohayon

• Nov 10, 2002- Matan (5) and Noam (4) of Kibbutz
  Metzer, were shot and killed by a terrorist who
  infiltrated the Kibbutz, located east of Hadera.
• The boys died in the arms of their mother,
  Revital (34), as she tried to hide with them in a
  corner of their room. Revital had been speaking
  on the phone with her ex-husband, Avi, when she
  heard shots outside. She dropped the phone and
  ran into the boys room trying to protect them but
  the terrorist pursued them and shot them as they
  hugged each another.
• Avi Ohayon heard the fatal shots over the phone
  before the line was disconnected.

The Zer Aviv Family

• Oct 4, 2003- the Zer Aviv family was killed and
  practically wiped out in a suicide bombing
  carried out by a female terrorist from Jenin in
  the Maxim restaurant in Haifa.
• Bezalel (30), his mother Bruria (59), wife, Keren
  (29), son Liran, (4), and daughter, Noya (1),
  were having a family get together when the blast
  killed them.

Kira and Ilan Perlman

• Nov 21, 2002- Kira (67) and Ilan (8) Perlman were
  killed in a suicide bombing while driving a bus
  in the Kiryat Menahem neighborhood of Jerusalem.
• The Perlman family had immigrated to Israel from
  the Ukrain in 1990. Since the day Ilan was born
  in 1994 he and his grandmother, Kira, a holocaust
  survivor, were inseparable. Kira, who accompanied
  her grandson Ilan everywhere, was going with him
  to school, as she did everyday, when they were
  both killed on the bus together.

Marla Bennett

• July 31, 2002- Marla Bennett (24) of San Diego,
  California, was killed when a bomb exploded in
  the Frank Sinatra Cafeteria on the Hebrew
  University Mt. Scopus camp where she was
  studying.
• Marla Bennett completed her B.A. in Political
  Science at Berkeley University in California in
  2000. She was in the second year of a three-year
  master's program in Judaic Studies at the Hebrew
  University and Pardes Institute. On that specific
  morning she came to the university to take final
  exam in Hebrew and was killed. Marla was planning
  to marry her boyfriend, Michael, and they were to
  have flown back to the States on August to meet
  his parents.

Dr. David Appelbaum and Nava Appelbaum

• Sept 9, 2003- Dr. David Appelbaum (51) and his
  daughter Nava (20) were killed in a suicide
  bombing at Café Hillell in Jerusalem.
• Dr. Appelbaum, a specialist in emergency
  medicine, had just returned from New York where
  he had delivered an address on managing the
  medical response to mass casualty events at a
  major downtown symposium on emergency
  preparedness based on his experience as head of
  Shaare Zedek Medical Center's Department of
  Emergency Medicine.
• The symposium was timed to mark the second
  anniversary of the September 11th attacks. He had
  arrived just in time for his daughter Navas
  wedding. Father and daughter went out in order to
  have a heart to heart talk the night before
  Navas wedding and both were killed in the blast.

Ghalab Tawil

• May 18, 2003- Ghalab Tawil (42) of Shuafat was
  killed in a suicide bombing on a bus near the
  French Hill neighborhood in Jerusalem.
• Ghalab Tawil left his home at the far end of the
  Shuafat refugee camp every morning at 5 A.M. to
  take the first bus to the Hadassa hospital, where
  he worked as a cleaning man.
• A construction worker by trade, he began to work
  at the hospital in 2002 in order to be close to
  his 13-year-old daughter Iman, who was being
  treated for Leukemia and was hospitalized for
  five months. He often did not come home but
  remained near her during the long nights.

Capt. Yael Kfir

• Sep 9, 2003- Capt.Yael Kfir (21) of Ashkelon was
  killed in a suicide bombing at a hitchhiking post
  for soldiers outside Tzrifin army base, not far
  away from Tel-Aviv.
• Yael Kfir graduated from the High School for the
  Arts in Ashkelon, majoring in theatre.
• Alongside this, her father said, she had a
  scientific mind, completing her math
  matriculation exam for the maximum 5 points with
  the grade of 100.
• Yael dreamt of becoming an astronaut and wanted
  to be on the first manned mission to Mars.
• Two weeks before she died she had sent an e-mail
  to NASA, asking them to advise her if she should
  study astronomy or astrophysics.
• "She had enough dreams for dozens of people, said
  her father."

Maria Tagilcher

• June 1, 2001- Maria Tagilcher (14) was one of 21
  people, mostly youngsters killed in a suicide
  bombing at a Tel Aviv discotheque on a Friday
  night.
• Maria immigrated to Israel from the Ural
  Mountains in Russia early in 2000 with her
  mother, Olga.
• Maria was an eighth-grader at the ORT Leibovich
  school, and was still having trouble with Hebrew,
  but had many friends. She escaped terror
• just two days before, when a rigged car exploded
  outside her school, while she was still inside.
• She decided to go to the Dolphin disco on Friday
  night to relieve the tension, but terror reached
  its hand for her and got her this time.

Edward Bakshayer

• Jan 17, 2002- Edward Bakshayer (48) was killed
  when a terrorist burst into a Bat-Mitzva
  reception in Hadera.
• On Thursday night, a terrorist entered the David
  Palace hall on Weizmann Avenue in Hadera and
  began automatic fire at the 180 guests
  celebrating the Bat-Mitzva of 12-year-old Nina
  Kardashova.
• The terrorist, who also carried grenades, was
  pushed outside by guests and killed by the police
  forces who quickly arrived at the scene.
• Edward Bakshayev, the step-grandfather of the
  Bat-Mitzva girl, had just given his granddaughter
  a pair of golden earrings.
• A few minutes later he was shot to death by the
  terrorist.

Maysoun Amin Hassan

• Aug 4, 2002 - Maysoun Amin Hassan, 19, of Sajur
  was killed in the suicide bombing of Egged bus at
  the Meron junction.
• Maysoun Amin Hassan of the well-known Hassan
  family from the Druze village of Sajur in the
  Galilee was accompanying her older sister, Jihan,
  to an admissions exam to the Safed regional
  college.
• Maysoun was killed in the explosion Jihan, who
  was to be married in two weeks, was injured.
  Their father, Amin Hassan, was a former senior
  police officer and serves as director of the
  olive growers council.
• Maysoun, who was a gifted student, had been
  looking forward to begin studying psychology at
  the Haifa University in October.
