Jacqueline OBrien
  • Jacqueline specializes in Architectural
    Landscape photography. Her work has been
    exhibited widely on both sides of the Atlantic
    has been reproduced in many books Magazines.
    Director of the Architectural Archive of Ireland
    has lectured internationally on historical
    subjects. She is also Patron of the Irish
    Australian Association.

Peter Harbison
  • Was Editor of Ireland of the Welcomes, an
    internationally acclaimed magazine devoted to
    aspects of Irish culture. Currently Honorary
    Academic Editor of the Royal Irish Academy, of
    which he has also been Vice-President. From 1986
    to 1990 Dr. Harbison was Chairman of the National
    Monument Advisory Council.

Personal Impression
  • Frankly I think this is a hard book to make a
    report on. If I so much as flip a page beyond the
    table of contents I get stuck, looking at the
    beautiful pictures and descriptive text that go
    over Irelands histories, then forget to jot down
    information on this report P

How Old is Newgrange, Co. Meath?
  • A Carbon dating on the remains closest to the
    roof came it about 3100 BC, it suggests that
    Newgrange is 500 years older then the pyramids,
    making it one of the worlds first great pieces of
    Architecture
