• Here in this tutorial we will learn how to create
  Clipping Path in Adobe Photoshop using pen tool.
  Before start with this tutorial we will focus on
  some terms. Designers who are involved in image
  editing industry they often perform clipping path
  or clipping mask in various image editing
  operation. They prefer to use short keys or
  keyboard shortcuts as its less time consuming. So
  in this tutorial we will also learn about the use
  of keyboard short keys in Adobe Photoshop.

So here we will go for the steps to create
clipping path

• Run Adobe Photoshop in your computer, it is
  better if you use CS5 or any letter version as
  some of the earlier versions contain less
  features.
• Open the image you want to modify in Adobe
  Photoshop.
• Select pen tool, it should be in the left side
  bar which is also known as tool box in Photoshop
  or you can use short key (P) as I've said earlier
  its much time consuming.
• In the right side you will see option bar. From
  option bar select "Path" then create a new path.
  Now you are ready to create clipping path.
• Zoom your image up to 4x, so that you can view it
  properly and you can create path more accurately.
  You will find the zoom tool in the lower portion
  of your tool box or in some versions of Photoshop
  it might be in the upper left corner. The short
  key for zoom is (ctrl).

So here we will go for the steps to create
clipping path

• Select the hand tool to find an edge of your
  image where you want to create your path. You
  will get the hand tool in the bottom of your tool
  bar or use space as your short key for hand tool.
• Draw your path around your preferred object, you
  might have to use Alt key to select the direction
  of your path. Use Ctrl key to select any specific
  point of your created path. These points are
  often known as hard points.
• From the option bar path palette click the path
  you worked on, give your path a name and then
  save path.
• Select your path by holding the Ctrl key and
  click on the working path. The cursor pointer
  will take a different shape during the selection
  process.
• Then copy your selection to a new layer. You can
  do it by dragging the existing layer over the new
  layer or use short keys (CtrlC) for copy and
  (CtrlV) for paste where new layer will create
  automatically.
• Shut the eye of the original layer and we will
  see the selected path.

• Save your customized image in PSD format or if
  you want a transparent background then save it in
  TIFF, PNG or GIF format.
