PUZZLE BOBBLE
  • Puzzle bobble also known as bust a move, is a
1994 tile matching arcade puzzle video game
arcade video game for one or two players created
by Taito Corporation, it is founded on Taitos
popular 1986 arcade game Bubble bobble, featuring
characters and themes from that game. Its
symptomatically cute Japanese animation and music
along with its play technicalities and level
designs made it successful as an arcade game
title and spawned several sequels and ports to
    home gaming systems.

Two different varieties of the original game were
on the loose. Puzzle bobble shooter was in the
beginning released in Japan only in June 1994 by
Taito Corporation, running on Taitos B system
hardware (with the preliminary title Bubble
bust). Then after six months later in December,
the international Neo Geo version of the puzzle
bobble was on the loose. It was almost
undistinguishable aside from being in the stereo
and having some dissimilar sound effects and
deciphered text.

At the start of each round, the rectangular
playing arena contains a prearranged pattern of
colored bubbles. These are actually referred as
balls in the translation give in the game of
puzzle bobble but they are clearly to be bubbles
because the pop, and are taken from bubble
bobble. At the end of the game the player
controls an object known as the pointer as it is
used to aim and fire the bubbles up at the
screen. The colors of bubbles fired is randomly
generated and chosen from the color of bubbles
still left on the screen.
4
When set to the US region, the Neo Geo varieties
exhibits the unconventional title bust a move
and features anti-drug and anti-littering
messages in the title categorization. The Bust a
move title was used for all the consequent games
in the series in the United States of America and
Canada, as well as for some (non Taitos publish)
consoles in Europe also.
The bubbles fired up on the screen probably
travel in straight lines possibly rebounding off
the side walls of the pitch. The bubbles fired up
stop when they reach the top or touch other
bubbles on the top of the pitch. If a bubble
touches same colored balls, making a group of
three or more bubbles, those bubbles as well as
bubbles hanging from them are all together
removed from the play pitch. More and more points
are awarded as more and more bubbles are removed
from the play pitch.
5
After every few shots, the ceiling of the play
area comes down a little a bit in order to make
the game a little bit more challenging for the
player. As the ceiling falls the bubbles stuck to
it fall along it. The number of shots between
each drop of the ceiling is predisposed by the
number of bubble colors remaining on the play
field. As the bubbles move closer to the bottom
of the play field of the game, the music starts
to play faster and when the bubble touch the end
of the play field of the game the game is over.
