What is Love
  •  "When my grandmother got arthritis, she
couldn't bend over and paint her toenails

    That's love." - Rebecca - age 8
  • "When someone loves you, the way they say your

you get tired of kissing, you still want to be

kiss" - Emily - age 8 "Love is what's in the
room with you at Christmas if you stop opening
presents and listen." - Bobby - age 7
(Wow!) "If you want to learn to love better,
you should start with a friend who you hate." -

like his shirt, then he wears it everyday." -

is insanity. The ancient Greeks knew that. It is

Three Types of Love
  • Eros love. This is a sex type love and can be
emotional. The word, "erotica" comes from this
    word.
  • "Philo". This is your "brotherly love" In the
book of Revelation, one of the 7 churches
mentioned is the church of Philidelpha, which is
known for it's brotherly love. It means, "if you
love me I'll love you in return. It's a recipial
    form of love.

11
Agape Love
  •  Agape love. Christ had this type of love. It's a
love that's given and expects no return.
  • Agape love is a gift. The gift of giving and not
expecting anything in return. True love.

12
  • It is a love that is totally selfless, where a
person gives out love to another person even if
this act does not benefit her/him in any way.
Whether the love given is returned or not, the
person continues to love (even without any
    self-benefit).

Luke 627-31
  • 27 But I say to you who hear, love your enemies,
do good to those who hate you,28 bless those who
curse you, pray for those who mistreat
you. 29 Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him
the other also and whoever takes away your coat,
do not withhold your shirt from him
either. 30 Give to everyone who asks of you, and
whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand
it back. 31 Treat others the same way you want
    them to treat you.

14
Luke 632-34
  • 32 If you love those who love you, what credit
is that to you? For even sinners love those who
    love them.
  • 33 If you do good to those who do good to you,
what credit is that to you? For even sinners do
    the same.
  •  34 If you lend to those from whom you expect to
receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners
lend to sinners in order to receive back the
    same amount.

15
Who are we to Love?
  • 35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend,
expecting nothing in return and your reward will
be great, and you will be sons of the Most High
    for He

16
Greatest Love
  • Jn. 316 For God so love the world that He gave
His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth
in Him shall not perish but have ever lasting
    life.
  • 1 Jn.316 Hereby perceive we the love of God,
because he laid down his life for us and we
ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

17
  • Jerm.313 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me,
saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an
    everlasting love therefore with lovingkindness
    have I drawn thee.
