• Breast augmentation is one of the most
  popular surgeries among women. In 2011, there
  were 307,180 breast implant surgeries performed
  in the United States, which is 4 increase from
  2010. But, many women have concerns about the
  procedure.

MAMMOGRAPHY

• Breast implants will not interfere with
  mammography
• Breast implant may reduce the risk of breast
  cancer

BREAST FEEDING

• Will not eliminate the ability to breast feed

INFECTION

• Infection is possible at any time
• Antibiotic will be a necessary treatment
• In some rare cases, you may to remove breast
  implant
• After infection has been resolved, breast
  implants can be replaced.

DEFLATION/ RUPTURE

• Loss of size and shape
• it occurs due to damage by surgical instruments
  during surgery, overfilling or under filling of
  the breast implant with saline solution
• It can occur immediately or slowly over a period
  of days.

CAPSULAR CONTRACTURE 

• Very common problem
• Scar tissue or capsule around the breast
  thickens, make the breast more firm and hard
• Symptoms severe pain, distorted shape and
  movement of implant

BREAST RIPPLING

• When breast tissue spread out over the implant,
  irregularities in the tissue may be seen as
  rippling on the surface of your skin. 
• Frequent problem with saline implants
• May occur because of size of implant

CHANGES IN NIPPLE AND BREAST SENSATION 

• After surgery, there may be intense sensitivity
  or no feeling in the nipple or breast.
• Most cases, change can be temporary In some rare
  cases, it could be permanent.

HEMATOMA/SEROMA 

• Hematoma - a collection of blood inside a body
  cavity
• Seroma - a collection of the watery portion of
  the blood
• May contribute to infection and/or capsular
  contracture.
