This is the home page design for the BCSD

• Lets take a look at some of the features and
  functions of the intranet home page. At the top
  is the FUNCTION BAR which will show
• the weather
• provide Quick Links to commonly accessed parts of
  the intranet
• a Search Tool
• icons that link to School Tool, Calendar, Avatar,
  Discussion Boards, Electronic Forms, your
  Classroom Website account and your Brighton
  e-Mail
• Links to Options (to customize your Intranet home
  page) and Logout.

The MENU BAR provides the navigation menu to the
interior pages of the Intranet. A section will be
designed for each school and Central Office
(District). The MENU BAR will also provide
animated graphics that will highlight selected
events, programs and other information.

You will use your mouse or trackpad to hover over
sections of the menubar and see the subpages
without having to click. Youll be able to find
that page you are looking for quickly.

The NEWS FLASH will highlight certain news items.
Clicking on More will reveal the rest of the
article and also give you the opportunity to
review more Intranet news.

The SECTION MENU provides the navigation menu
that is relevant to the section of the Intranet
that you are viewing. On the HOME PAGE you will
see your Personlized Links, News, Todays Events
(for your building), news from EdWeek (or another
news source that you can choose from), Staff
Directory, a Website of the Day, Job Postings,
and an FAQ. You can customize this section by
clicking on Options in the FUNCTION BAR at the
top.

The NEWS CENTER will feature articles, messages
and memos from administrators, the Teacher Center
and other sources. The information here will be
relevant, timely and important to your work.

HOME PAGE ADs will highlight timely news,
events, initiatives. Clicking on an ad will take
you to the relevant page or feature.

The FEATURED VIDEOS section will feature staff
development, news and other information. Clicking
on More will take you to the complete listing
of videos on our Intranet.

The ALERT WINDOW is another way the Intranet will
provide important, timely information.

The NEWS BAR will feature news headlines that
will scroll across the screen.
