2Rabbi Chaim Herzog is a well-qualified individual
who has been serving as the Director of Chabad of
Melbourne CBD since 1998. In this capacity, he
acts as a liaison to Jewish community groups. He
was ordained as a Rabbi in 2000 at Tomchei Tmimim
Lubavitch in New York and officiated as a
chaplain in Athens 2004 Olympic games. He went on
shlichus to Los Angeles and Sydney as a
Rabbinical student to help the Jewish community
living there. At present, he is also serving as
the religious chaplain at the Royal Melbourne
Institute of Technology (RMIT). Organized the
14th Sukkat Luncheon in the City Square Rabbi
Chaim Herzog, the Shliach and Director of Chabad
of Melbourne CBD, hosted the 14th Sukkat Luncheon
in Melbourne's City Square.
3One of the guest speakers in this event was Rabbi
Ralph Gennende, who is the Minister of Caulfield
Hebrew Congregation, the largest Synagogue in
Melbourne. The political leaders who attended
this event were David Southwick, MLA member for
Caulfield, Daniel Andrews, leader of the
Opposition, and Kelly O'Dywer, MP Federal Member
for Higgens. Australian Friends of Lubavitch
Under the direction of Rabbi Chaim Herzog,
Australian Friends of Lubavitch and Chabad of
Melbourne CBD hosted Rabbi Chaim Tzvi Groner in
honor of forthcoming High Holidays. In this
event, Rabbi Groner addressed the audience on the
topic The Jewish approach to Forgiveness and
Maintaining Healthy Relationships.
4In an informative and witty manner, he quoted
various sources on how true forgiveness should be
practiced. Hosted Rabbi Michael Skobac Rabbi
Chaim Herzog hosted Rabbi Michael Skobac- the
world-renowned scholar who is presently the
Education Director of Jews for Judaism in
Toronto, Canada. He is highly regarded as an
expert in differences between Christianity and
Judaism. He has delivered lectures on this topic
in Israel, India, Canada, the United States,
South Africa, former Soviet Union and Australia.
He has appeared in several radio and television
programs and has taught courses on
Jewish-Christian polemics. In addition to being a
columnist for the Jewish Press, he has also
written for several Jewish publications on
missionary issue.
