PeacePlayers International
(1888PressRelease) SNI's Shapiro Lends Expertise
as Master Negotiator During Trip to Jerusalem,
the West Bank and Tel Aviv to Unite Kids Through
Basketball. Baltimore, MD - Today, Shapiro
Negotiations Institute (SNI), a premier global
provider of training and consulting, announced
that Ron Shapiro, chairman of SNI, recently
visited Israel as part of a delegation on behalf
of PeacePlayers International, a nonprofit
organization that uses basketball to unite and
educate young people in divided communities
around the world. The delegation traveled to
Jerusalem, the West Bank, Tel Aviv and religious
sites to see the work of PeacePlayers
International in action. Shapiro was able to
leverage his expert negotiation skills to aid
interactions with the group. Shapiro has been
volunteering with PeacePlayers International for
nearly 10 years, assisting with fundraising and
acting as chairman of the board. He's currently
chairman emeritus of the organization, which
serves children ranging in age from five to 18.
"During my tenure with PeacePlayers
International, I've heard stories of children in
areas of conflict like Northern Ireland, South
Africa and Israel who, with the help of PPI, are
building bridges and inspiring hope," Shapiro
said. "This was my first site visit, and I felt
the power of the work PeacePlayers International
is doing," Shapiro said.

The PeacePlayers International delegation gave
the children their own basketballs and
participated in coaching and playing games with
the kids. They also spent time with the
PeacePlayers International Leadership Development
Program, comprised of boys and girls ages 15 to
18. "From time to time, I was consulted on the
trip for perspective as a 'negotiation expert,'"
said Shapiro. "The real experts on bringing
people together, however, are in the field every
day on behalf of PeacePlayers International." Expe
rt negotiator, sports agent, corporate attorney,
educator, New York Times best-selling author,
civic leader, and founder of Shapiro Negotiations
Institute, Ron Shapiro has developed his
negotiations philosophy on four decades of
deal-making experience. He is best known as
having represented more Major League Baseball
Hall of Famers than any other agent, including
Cal Ripken, Jr. USA Today called Ron "an
effective behind-the-scenes negotiator." His
negotiation and influencing techniques have
resolved a national symphony orchestra strike,
facilitated solutions to human relations
problems, and reconciled disputes in government,
corporate and major biotechnology
challenges. About Shapiro Negotiations
