Title: What Everyone Should Learn About Allergy

1
What Everyone Should Learn About
Allergy
The fur of cats and dogs can trigger pet allergy.
Researchers have found that saliva contains
the allergens. Saliva remains as the animals
licks its fur. Skin and urine are two of the
sources where allergens can be found. Proteins
can become airborne when the substance carrying
it dries.
Cats tend to have more allergens than dogs do.
Licking their bodies more, people holding them
more as well as people spending their time more
attending to cats are just a few reasons. Guinea
pigs as well as other rodents have become popular
pets. Urine of the many rodents may trigger
hypersensitivity to some people.
Mold Allergy Symptoms
The symptoms of mold allergies can occur
on different seasons. It may occur during summer
or fall. However, it can also occur all year
round if mold is present in your home. Soil can
promote the growth of molds. Avoid too much
exposure to indoor plants. Mold is a type of
parasitic fungus that is visible under a
microscope. It is light, and can float in the air
like pollen.

Home prevention includes keeping the doors and

windows closed. Moist areas, such as the
basement
and bathroom should be kept well
ventilated at all
times. Indoor plants should be
avoided. Their soil can be a good ground for mold
growth. The ideal treatments for mold allergy are
identical with dust mite and pollen.
Sulfite Allergy
Sulfites are a group of naturally occurring
sulfur-based compounds. They are sometimes added
to enhance and preserve some food. One in 100
individuals has sulfite sensitivity. The cause of
sensitivity to sulfites remains unknown.
Furthermore, sensitivity may develop at any age.
Sulfite sensitive people may experience mild to
life-reactions reactions. The US Food and
Drug Administration imposed a ban on the use of
sulfites on food that are to be eaten raw. A law
by the FDA mandates the listing of sulfites on
product labels by manufacturers adding sulfites
to their products. Nowadays, sulfites are not
used on most fresh foods. However, a variety of
cooked and processed foods may still contain
sulfites. Naturally, occurring sulfites may be
found in the process of making beer and wine.
2
Foods containing, or which may contain, sulfites
should be avoided to prevent reactions to
sulfite. Individuals with sulfite sensitivity are
advised to read labels on all food products. When
eating out, it is best to inquire from the person
cooking your meals if sulfite was used at any
time during preparation.
Hay Fever Allergies Guide
Pollens and other similar substances can
trigger allergic reactions called hay fever. The
time of recurrence is the factor the separates
the two types of allergic rhinitis. The seasonal
type can happen in specific times of the year,
whereas the other type occurs all year round.

The type of reaction will determine the
difference
between hay fever and non-allergic
rhinitis. Tree
pollens cause hay fever during
springtime. Pollens
from weed and grass may
cause allergies in the
summer. Although
fungus spores and weeds can be
present all
the time, these can pose as problems
from
late March through November. Some
indoor allergens can trigger allergic responses
to people with year-round hay fever.
Allergens such as dust mites, animal dander and
even feathers can be seen in materials found in
homes, for example, pillows and carpets. Mold, a
common allergen, can be found in bathrooms and
basements.
Candle Allergy Overview
Essential oils provide candles with the smell
like autumn leaves and dune grass. They may not
give you allergies, Dr. Wedner says. However,
their odor can give you inflamed nasal cavities.
He exclaimed that allergic people often acquire
runny nose and watery eyes when they
expose themselves to candles. This is because a
natural increased sensitivity is endowed to
people having nasal allergies.
The smell of cigarette smoke can be compared to
the smelling sensation of a person having a
sensitive nose. If a person experiences intense
sensitivity, he should stay away from candles.
Candles having only one scent and few ingredients
should be chosen by people who are sensitive.
Distinguishing a certain scent or ingredient that
bothers a person may be done through trial and
error. If ever you have inhaled a scented candle
and experienced bad reactions, it is advised to
get some fresh air.
