Location
  • Liechtenstein is in the western central part of
    Europe. It is situated in the Alps, between
    Austria and Switzerland. It is bounded in the
    west by Rhine River.
  • Latitude 47.1667 decimal degrees
  • Longitude 9.5333 decimal degrees

Place
  • Liechtenstein has cold, cloudy winters with
    frequent snow or rain and cool to moderately
    warm, cloudy, humid summers.
  • Liechtenstein is mostly mountainous (Alps) with
    Rhine Valley in the west. Although this country
    may be small and has limited natural resources,
    it is heavily industrialized.
  • 76.2 of the residents are Roman Catholic 7 are
    Protestant 10.6 are unknown and 6.2 are
    other. The official language is German, however,
    theres also Alemannic dialect.

Movement
  • There were 12,000 foreign residents in
    Liechtenstein in 1996, mostly Swiss. Nearly 6,900
    Austrian and Swiss commute here every day.
  • Important exports include precision instruments,
    ceramics, textiles, and pharmaceuticals.
    Liechtenstein imports mainly raw materials, light
    machinery, and progressed foods. In 1996, 40 of
    the total exports went to the countries of the
    European Economic Area.

  • The prince house of Liechtenstein ranks among the
    oldest aristocracy families. Around 1136 with
    Hugo of Liechtenstein a carrier of this name is
    mentioned for the first time. Prince Hans Adam
    II. of and to Liechtenstein was born as an oldest
    son of prince Franz Josef II. and princess Gina
    on 14 February 1945. On 30 July 1967 it
    vermaehlte itself with countess Marie Kinsky of
    Wchinitz and Tettau. The pair of princes has four
    children Hereditary prince Alois, prince
    Maximilian, prince Constantin and princess
    Tatjana.

  • Hereditary prince Alois, born on 11 June 1968,
    and hereditary princess Sophie have four
    children Prince Joseph Wenzel, princess Marie
    Caroline, prince Georg and prince Nikolaus. On
    the occasion of the state holiday on 15 August
    2004 prince Hans Adam II. entrusted the
    hereditary prince as his deputy with the practice
    it being entitled sovereignty rights. The
    representation is comprehensive and in the long
    term. Hereditary prince Alois of and to
    Liechtenstein took over all tasks of the head of
    state thereby of unrestricted time. The famous
    Fuerstlichen collections was gathered in almost
    four-hundred-year collecting activity.

  • With the reopening Liechtenstein of the museum in
    the garden palace Liechtenstein at the prince
    lane 1 in Vienna found one of the private
    collections most meaning world-wide back into its
    original domicile. It became the tradition to
    present a small selection of erlesener objects
    from the Fuerstlichen collections in the art
    museum Liechtenstein in Vaduz in form of topic
    tables drawing of a bill. The LGT Group is one of
    the enterprises of the house Liechtenstein, to
    which among other things also the well-known yard
    wine cellar belongs.
