Confidentiality
  • Do not discuss any patient information with
  • One patient about another
  • Visitors to the hospital
  • Representatives of the news media
  • Other staff, except when in a conference
  • Your own relatives, friends, or neighbors

Universal Precautions
  • Wash hands between patient contact
  • Use protective barriers to reduce the risk of
    exposure
  • Immediately report all needle injuries and mucous
    membrane exposures as an incident to your
    supervisor

Hand washing remains the single most important
way to prevent the spread of infection.Wash
hands with soap and hot running water for at
least 10 -15 seconds.

  • Patients need to talk, be a good listener
  • Do not comment on plan of care, be non-judgmental
    and neutral
  • Stay positive, keep a sense of balance

  • Volunteer Medical Health Assessment Form- cleared

  • MMR Immunization Record the results of a PPD
    test
  • Completed Volunteer Challenge Exam
