Title: Females Sexual Costuming in Relation to Sunshine

1
Females Sexual Costuming in Relation to Sunshine
  • By Robert Woodford

  • Mick Sullivan

2
How in the world does this experiment work?
  • Our hypothesis
  • The degree to which females on Bellarmines
campus dress in order to elicit the attention of
would-be mates is directly proportional to the
    presence or absence of sunlight.

3
How do we determine what elicits the attention of
a would-be mate?
  • Firstly, this is an entirely visual experiment.
  • Over eight days we sampled first 20 females seen
at 1155am (height of class change traffic)
  • The degree of attention grabbing attire was
agreed upon by us under these guide lines
  • Point system of 1 to 5
  • 5 meaning the individual was wearing a
    combination of flesh revealing clothes.
  • 1 meaning an outfit lacking the visual qualities
    necessary for attraction

4
Rating 1
  • Loose clothing
  • Comfort comes first
  • Colored, but not eye-catching.

5
Rating 2
  • A bit more figure fitting.
  • V neck leads eyes downward
  • Displays neck

6
Rating 3
  • Glimpse of midriff
  • Tight jeans
  • Pointy toed shoes.
  • Elegant sweater hides, yet clings to feminine
    figure.

7
Rating 4
  • Tight jeans
  • Sandals, with heels- show off feet, and stretch
    legs
  • Short, form fitting shirt, advertises endowments

8
Rating 5
  • Shoulders and knees exposed, both emphasize
    natural curves of body
  • Boots- come on!

9
Sunny vs. Cloudy days
  • Subjects were observed over 8 days.
  • 4 of these days were sunny
  • 4 were cloudy
  • ALL 8 had peak temperatures above 65degrees
  • Given that a pleasant temperature was a constant
variable, the presence or absence of sunlight was
isolated as a major factor in choice of clothing.

10
  • Sunlight is proven to influence moods
  • Potential for attracting a mate increases in a
    more ideal environment.
  • This is not to say the females subjects are
    actively looking for a mate.
  • It has to do with Biology, and of course thats
    the name of the course.

  • Data was entered as shown, and then averages were
    taken
  • This was done for Four Sunny Days and then
    graphed.
  • The same thing was done for Cloudy Days.

Conclusion
  • It appears as if sunshine may be a deciding
factor in how females choose to dress.
  • Changes made in retrospect would include
  • Legitimation of point scale- if we knew more of
biological reasoning, results would be less
    subjective.
  • Observation of same female subjects everyday, and
    noted changes in patterns.
  • Females on staff
  • Include males to observe entire species behavior
