  Veracruz
• The mouth of the conquest, the port that inspires
  poets.
• Virgins, mermaids and dichos sung with jarana
• Are part of my memory
• I cross the nonexistent borders of my past and my
  present.
• I do this constantly
• Producing bicultural, binational and visceral
  art.

• Is a social and political activist both in
  her artistic work and in public service
• Has been an active educator since 1974
• Is currently the Denver Public School District
  Representative in the Denver Cultural Council
• Artwork included in the first compendium
  publication of Chicano and Chicana Contemporary
  Artists in the United States
• Has worked in film production since 1984
