Upgrading Online Services
  • Here is a summary of the important information
    that we will discuss
  • Differences between legacy versions of Money and
    the Money 2000 online services.
  • Upgrading information.
  • Converting Quicken online services to Money.

34
Differences
  • The most noticeable difference between the
online services in previous versions of Money and
Money 2000 is the use of the Internet.
  • This enhancement allows you to have many more
options. Lets look at how to deal with these
changes for a file used in previous versions of
    Money.

35
Upgrading
  • When you upgrade a file from a previous version
of Money that was using Online services, Money
explains the changes to you then saves this
    information to a file.
  • In some cases, you may need to re-enable certain
    bills or upgrade financial institution
    information.

36
  • The directions you need to make the necessary
changes after upgrading are stored in a file on
your desktop that looks like this

37
Converting Quicken Online
  • Money offers online features similar to what you
might have used in Quicken. All you need to do is
sign up for Moneys online services with your
financial institution. First, cancel your Quicken
online services by contacting your financial
institution. Then go through setup as described
    earlier in this Webcast.
  • Its that simple.

38
Troubleshooting Online Services Setup
  • Here are a few pieces of information that will
help keep you on track to continue to use Moneys
    online services.
  • Bonus Topic
  • Modifying setup information when needed.

39
Handling Bank Mergers
  • When a bank merges with another bank or changes
its name, you need to click Accounts. Right-click
the banks name under Financial Institutions and
click Rename. Type the new name and press ENTER.

40
Missing bank
  • If your bank does not show up in the Connect All
Screen, this means that you have not yet enabled
the account from that institution for direct
    online services.
  • Go through the online setup for the bank that
does not show up in the Connect All Screen, then
    try again.

41
Electronic Transfers Support
  • Support for electronic transfers (Xfers) is
dependent on your bank or broker.
  • If Money will not let you make an electronic
transfer between two accounts, call your bank or
    broker.

42
Modifying Setup Information in Money
  • To modify the online information you entered,
simply go through the same process that you used
    to set up online services.
  • You can change the information you entered where
    applicable.
