• African American College football coach who spent
  fifty-six years as the head coach at historically
  black Grambling State University in Lincoln
  Parish, located in northern Louisiana, from 1941
  through1997.
• Some also referred to him as the Martin Luther
  King of football".

• 1949 Robinsons former player Paul Tank
  Younger signed a contract with the Los Angeles
  Rams to become the 1st player signed by the NFL
  from a predominantly black college.
• 1966 Football Writers Association of America
  cite Coach Robinson as the person who contributed
  the most to college football for the past 25
  years.
