• Held in a stadium in Olympia

• Many of the sports in the Ancient Games are also
  held in the modern games
  
• These are boxing, weight lifting,
  pentathalon (discus throwing, javelin throwing,
  wrestling, running, and long jumping)

When an athlete would win, he would receive a
wreath of laurel or olive leaves

• Chariot Racing was used in the Ancient Olympics
  but it is too dangerous for today
  
• We also have boxing today, back then their hands
  were wrapped in cloth

• Religion was very important and the Olympics were

• They could never play again if they cheated
• They honored the God Zeus
