  have warmer weather for the winter)
• Animals prepare for winter furry animals will
  begin to get thicker fur coats
• Humans begin to dress in warmer clothes, with
  sweaters and jackets

• Precipitation is often snow or ice (sleet)
• Gets dark in early evening or late afternoon

• Evergreens still have needles
• All other trees are bare
• Some plants may freeze in the cold weather

• Some animals hibernate
• Furry animals have developed a thick coat to keep
  them warm during the winter
• Some animals gain weight during the winter. The
  fat provides extra warmth in the cold.
• Humans dress much warmer, with heavy coats and
  hats and gloves.
