• Latvia was originally settled by the ancient

  blats came under the overlords ship of the
  vagrancies or Vikings but a more lasting
  dominance was established over them by their
  German speaking neighbors to the west who
  Christianized Latvia in the 12th and 13th
  centuries the night of the sword who merged with
  the German knight of the Teutonic order in 1237.
