What is Rapid Development?

• Requirements and Design developed ahead of time
• Weekend of coding, testing and debugging in SSE
  Lab
• Started by Rob Busack
• After Rob graduated, it became known as the
  Rob Busack Annual Rapid Development Weekend

Why?

• Provides insight into other programming areas
• Allows students of every skill level to
  participate and contribute
• Rapid pace magnifies the importance of solid
  engineering practices
• Builds teamwork skills
• Its awesome!

Rap Dev I Ride the Bullet

• Capture the flag game
• RIT Campus used as map (taken from Google maps)
• Named after a bug in the program
• Not all features were fully implemented

Rap Dev II Waffle

• Anonymous file sharing system
• Original name Waffle on Web or WoW
• Uses same ports as World of WarCraft
• Almost everything was fully implemented

• Networked Capture the Flag Game
• Random Maps
• Computer AI bots
