Woke in the morning to find debris. Debris over
me Woke in the morning to find sadness and
strife. Strives over these lives. Woke in the
morning to find chaos an up roar. Chaos through
my door.. Of life, we live during the hours of
the sun with more than ones soul can really
handle we find ourselves in a standstill and wait
to retreat with familiarity and loved ones and in
the stillness of the night. We claim
peace. Dreamt in the night and knew serenity. A
strength or a liberty. Dreamt in the night and
knew happiness and understanding. Understanding
of a peace of mind. Dreamt in the night and knew
love. Love of the daily chaos

Motivation Number 53 - Samantha Berns
Motivated by money, he comes and he goes. Works
hours after hours for a president pressed neatly
on woven linen than coated with green. It has no
meaning to some, but is the world to others. He
wakes, dresses, eats, works Works , works, works
He is motivated by money. Motivated for that
smell of foreign finger prints and now previous
empty pockets. He works works works. Works until
he drives home than showers, eats and now he
sleeps. Dreams about things he wants to have He
wakes, dresses, eats, works Works works
works Labeled successful, he is. But he gains
more with time He makes times, he makes money.

If I could be someone else for a night I would be
many things. I would be the girl that walks into
the room and everything simply stops. I would be
that girl who would make the boys take a gander,
and the girls hate me with their envious eyes. I
would have this confidence and poise, smile and
talk to each person who met my stare. I would be
confident. I would be speak profoundly and when
those words would spill from my lips they would
be covered with an accent only found in
Argentina. I choose to be this persona for a
night because I really do wish to covet these
mannerisms. I secretly do want to portray this
figure, something about it makes me feel
invincible and free.

• Only flip flops allowed on the island
• No fast food during the week.
• Must attend one dance lesson a week
• Girls are not to have underwear showing
• Boys are to not wear baggy jeans
• Khakis must be worn every day with an exception
  of Fridays

  street

• Must drink required amount of water daily

Reflections
I feel this collection of work is profound in its
own. The variety of words, thoughts, voices have
really moved me in a huge way. I feel that each
writing takes a life of its own and tells a
