APRILYN
Im Aprilyn and I love school. My favorite part
of school is recess. I have an older sister named
Kathalyn. My moms name is Kathy and my dads
name is Arnold. My favorite color is blue and my
favorite food is tacos. My favorite subject in
school is P.E. and my favorite animal is a puppy.
I also like things like dancing, gymnastics,
basketball, soccer, volleyball, and swimming. I
hope fifth grade will be fun.

Hi , I am 10 years old and Im in the fifth
grade. I live in Waldorf ,MD. My favorite color
is purple. My favorite food is macaroni and
cheese. My mom and dad work while I go to
school.I go to Matula Elementary School. I love
to practice throwing and hitting the softball
with my dad.I dont really care for homework. I
have a dog, a mom,and a dad.I have no brothers or
sisters.My favorite subject is reading and
writing.I hope I have a great year!

Im ten years old. Ive been in school since I
was three. From preschool to fifth grade. Its

Hi,Im 10 years old and in the 5th grade. Ive
been going to this school for 6 years now. My
favorite subjects are math and writing . I love
kittens, puppy dogs, hamsters and guinea pigs . I
have 2 dogs, Tanna whos 12 and Ayla whos 2. I
love them very much.

I have had terrific years here at Matula ,
this year I am in the fifth grade. I am ten
years old and my birthday is May 14 1991. Now
Ill tell you my favorite subjects. My favorite
subjects are math, social studies, self selected
writing and reading. My favorite colors are baby
blue and baby pink. My favorite food is Macaroni
and cheese. I Have four more other family
members. Total pets I have are three. 1 dog and
two hens. My favorite two sports are gymnastics
and cheerleading. I have a lot of friends and I
enjoy making new ones. Fifth grade is the
BEST!

I have gone to Matula Elementary for four
years this is my fifth. I have four other family
members. My favorite subject is math. I really
like my teacher. I am ten years old my birthday
is April 16. I live in two houses because my
parents are divorced. My dad lives in Kings Grant
and my mom lives in Mount Carmel Estates.I have
many friends and I love making new ones. I hope
I have a lot of fun in fifth grade.

beagle ,half basset. My favorite food is steak

Colton
I like to skateboard and roller blade
everyday when I get home from school. I enjoy
going to the skate park and I also enjoy going
going to school. In math, I am working on prime
factorization. Do you like math? At recess I
enjoy playing with my friends. Four-Square,
soccer and basketball are the activities I like
to play at recess. Another outdoor activity I
like to do is dirt bike riding. I have a mom, a
dad and a little sister. I would like to continue
school in my future years. I think I will have a
good year in Fifth Grade this year.

My name is Patrick and I would like to tell you
a little about myself. First of all I am in the
Fifth grade and I have Mrs. Adkinson and I think
she is the best teacher I ever had! I have joined
band and I am playing the cornet. This type of
instrument is a version of the trumpet but
smaller. I am looking forward to the rest of the
year with Mrs. Adkinson.

Hi! I was born on April 6,1991 at 530 p.m
at Bethesda hospital .When I was eight,I moved to
the tiny island of Bahrain near Saudi Arabia.Then
before I started fourth grade we moved back to
Maryland.I have two sisters and friendly cat
named Sam.My favorite thing to do is to swim.I
think Im going to have a good year in fifth
grade.

Ive had many memories at Matula. Here I like

I am loving the fifth grade. I am 9 years old at
Mary H. Matula Elementary. I dont have a very
big family, I have two sisters Mollie and Jamie
and a dog named Zeus. I begged my mom and dad to
get him. I really wanted a cat but my mom is
allergic to them. In my spare time I play with
my dog, read books, play with my friends, watch
T.V., and practice softball. I play for the Cubs.
My Favorite food is macaroni and cheese. My
favorite animal is bunnies. I cant wait until
fifth grade really gets going.

Mrs. Adkisson-Klein
I love teaching 5th grade. This is my third
year at Matula. My family is quite large. In
addition to my husband Billy and cat Toby, I have
three daughters and two stepsons. Kelsey is a
freshman at Western Washington University,
Lindsey is a junior at La Plata, and Hailey is a
freshman there. Benjamin is in 8th grade at
Milton Somers, and Matthew is in 4th grade here
at Matula. Im looking forward to a great school
year!
