RLG - Regulation and standardisation
  • The Meeting was chaired by Dr. Byoung Nam Lee.
  • He mention that the group, lead by Mr. Patrick
    Emery as a former rapporteur of the group, had
    been very successful in addressing the regulatory
    issues such as ENUM and NGN regulatory issues
    since 2002.

  • The group would continue to study regulatory
    issues that are relevant to standardization
    activity, and to monitor developments in the
    Expert Groups in regard to technical
    standardization issues which may have a
    regulatory implication, and to provide
    information of such developments to APT members.

  • The meeting had discussed two contributions
  • A Proposal on Setting a Regulation Map for
    Calculating Interconnection Charge among AP
    Countries (ASTAP06/FR11/RLG/01)
  • The meeting discussed how to attract and invite
    the more appropriate experts from the APT members
  • some preparation efforts would be required to
    address this issue

  • Regulation Issues on IPTV in Korea
    (ASTAP06/FR11/RLG/02)
  • The meeting noted that it was useful to share the
    experience of one country with other countries
    especially for the topic of regulatory issues
    related to new services such as IPTV

  • Network Neutrality
  • network neutrality is the concept that network
    designs and operators should not discriminate
    between network applications
  • the regulatory issue on network neutrality would
    be one of major topic to be addressed in RLG in
    the future

  • The input document prepared by Dr. Lee,
    rapporteur of RLG, will be circulated via email
    reflectors of the group and Network JEG to
    initiate the discussion of the topic and to
    address this issue at the next meeting.
  • He encouraged the participants of the meeting to
    submit the contribution on this issue.

NGN EG Report
  • The Meeting was chaired by Dr. Joon-Won Lee of
    the NGN EG Rapporteur, and managed with
    assistance from Dr. Hisashi Manabe of the NGN EG
    Co-Rapporteur.
  • Two meeting documents were presented and
    discussed.
  • ASTAP06/FR11/EG.NGN/01
  • Proposal to ASTAP members.
  • ASTAP06/FR11/EG.NGN/02
  • Information on security to ASTAP members.

Outcomes from NGN-EG
  • The ASTAP NGN-EG agreed to develop a common
    proposal on the NGN address to ITU-T in the next
    ASTAP EG meeting.
  • The ASTAP NGN-EG agreed to consider further the
    NGN security from the point of view of end users.
  • The ASTAP NGN-EG agreed to consider further an
    activity to develop an NGN technical guidebook
    for PSTN engineers.

Future Work of the NGN-EG
  • Concerning areas and action items
  • Draft contributions for a common proposal on the
    NGN address allocation.
  • NGN security and IPv6 information to be shared
    among ASTAP members.
  • A management leader for developing a NGN
    guidebook to PSTN engineers.

  • The Meeting was chaired by Co-Rapporteurs,
    Seungyun Lee and Yoshitomi Murai on behalf of Dr.
    Hui-Lan Lu
  • 28 people attended the IRT EG meeting.
  • The participants reviewed and agreed to the ToR.

    ETRI, Republic of Korea

  • Discussed the subject of Collaboration between
    ASTAP and ITU-T, referring to
  • ASTAP NGN EG meeting report in April 2006
  • Some thoughts for ASTAP by ITU TSB Director
  • Discussed how to collect information on broadband
    status from APT members.

IRT EG - Agreements and Actions
  • The participants agreed to the following points.
  • Continue discussion on IPv6 subject by e-mail.
  • IPv6 Migration issues will be introduced in the
    next IRT EG meeting
  • Continue discussion on Telematics subject by
    e-mail.
  • Work together to study IPTV with NGN EG,
    circulating information/opinions to e-mail
    reflectors for both EGs.
  • Continue discussion on the subject of
    Collaboration between ASTAP and ITU-T by
    e-mail.

IRT EG - Agreements and Actions
  • Make 2 or 3 simple questions to collect
    information on Broadband status to APT (State)
    Members
  • Exchange information/opinions on the following
    existing subjects by e-mail.
  • VoIP, Internet Interworking with existing
    networks
  • NGN-related activities in standards
    frameworks/SDOs in the region

RFID EG
  • The meeting of the RFID EG was chaired by Yoshito
    Sakurai because of the absence of the rapporteur
    Jun Seob Lee.
  • The meeting discussed the EG Progress Report,
    which summarised the work in ITU-T TSAG, SG13,
    Workshop and the CG informal meeting.
  • The meeting approved change of the EG name as
    Networked ID EG (as the result the name of
    e-mail reflector and web site URL will be
    changed).
  • The meeting discussed the following six
    contributions

    aspects of identification (including RFID)

    standardization works in ITU-T SG17 Q.2 and Q.10

RFID EG Meeting Outcome
  • Review and discussion on contributions related
    Correspondence Group on network aspects of
    identification including RFID in ITU-T
  • Agreed to make a joint proposal to support the
    result of the CG in ITU-T
  • The result includes four important points

RFID EG Meeting requires Plenary
  • The EG requires Plenary to invite members who
    join the joint proposal to next TSAG in ITU-T
    (deadline of submission is 21st June).
