Theatre Action Project
TAP is a team of professionally trained artists
and educators that works in partnership with
schools and communities to lead unique and
engaging arts programs which allow young people
to learn critical life skills, gain tools for
creative expression and have successful
experiences that build self esteem and confidence.

    3-5 need full-time child care
  • Every 1 spent on quality preschool can save 17
    in remedial education, prison welfare
  • In Travis County, 11.5 out of every 1,000 kids
    are confirmed victims of child abuse
  • 24 of Texans read below 5th grade level
  • 1/3 9th graders will not be in 12th grade in 3yrs

Programming
After School 40 professional teaching artists
serving thousands of children at 50 schools with
20 programs based on 500 page training
manual. The Courage to Stand/Courage in Action
4th-6th graders learn how to become courageous
bystanders to stop bullying. The Heroes/Los
Héroes Bi-lingual, musical puppet show teaches
conflict resolution to K-2 students. Journey
Into The Story Teaching artists help improve
literacy by bringing stories to life in the
classroom. Changing Lives TAP Safe Place
venture employs teens to create plays about
healthy relationships. In the Community Summer
camps, First Night Austin, custom programming,
community centers and more
