What is Navy TeleMaintenance?
TeleMaintenance is the use of audio, video, and
data to augment, enhance, and expedite Navy
Maintenance actions. It is a virtual maintenance
system that uses existing ship/shore hardware and
software via satellite connectivity (SIPRNET and
NIPRNET) to exchange real time "casualty"
information between the battle group and shore
maintenance sites. Thus, it reduces the need for
onsite technical assistance.
