Voyage One August 3, 1492

• August 3, 1492 Columbus set sail to find a new
  route to India.
• October 11th, 1492 Columbus reached the Caribbean
  Islands.

Voyage Two Columbus Sailed The Ocean Blue

• When Columbus returned, King Ferdinand II and
  Queen Isabella gave Columbus more money to go on
  a 2nd voyage.
• One sad thing that happened was that Columbus
  took the Indians as slaves.

Voyage Three I Only See The Sea

• On the third voyage Columbus sailed farther south
  and eventually reached Trinidad and Venezuela.
• Can you believe it, Columbus was the 1st European
  since Leif Erickson to set foot on the mainland
  of North America!

Voyage Four Finally More

• On his fourth and final trip (May 9th,
  1502-November 7, 1504) he reached Mexico,
  Honduras, Panama, and Santiago. Columbus died in
  eastern Hispaniola (now called the Dominican
  Republic.
