Items required
  • Detector Tube Pump
  • New Tube
  • Watch or Timer

Step 1
  • Insert a new detector tube.

Step 2
  • Align the red marks on the pump body and pump
    handle, so the handle will lock when extended.
  • Extend the handle to the full-stroke lock
    position.

Step 3
  • Wait one minute with the pump handle extended.

Step 4
  • Release the handle carefully, by turning the
    handle 90 degrees in either direction.
  • DO NOT LET GO. Ease the handle back slowly, but
    allow the handle to seek its own end point. A
    properly working pump will pull the handle back
    with considerable force.

Step 5
  • Observe the return point of the handle.
  • If the red line is visible, the pump has failed
    the leak test.
  • If the red line is not visible, the pump has
    passed.
  • If the pump fails, do not use it in the field.
    Follow the pump instructions for lubrication, and
    repeat the test.
  • If the pump continues to fail, return it for
    warranty service.
