044 GERMINATION OF SEEDS
Germination is a process by which seeds produce
shoot and root from the endosperm. Favourable
Temperature and Relative Humidity influence the
germination process.
MATERIALS REQUIRED
Two plastic or glass bowls
Piece of light gunny bag
Piece of light gunny bag
Seeds
Seeds
plastic or glass bowls

Take TWO plastic or glass bowls and place seeds
previously soaked for 10 hours in water Keep one
bowl as such for 24 hrs Keep the other bowl
covered with a light gunny bag wetted with water
in a dark corner of the room for 24 hrs

Watch the bowls after 24 hours. Observe the
difference in germination. Also observe
temperature and Relative Humidity in both the
bowls, if possible.
Cover with piece of wet gunny bag
Leave uncovered
