MISSION STATEMENT
The African American Leadership Forum (Delaware
Chapter) is a process for which support for
career advancement of African American YMCA
professionals will be fostered through training,
mentoring, support, and recruitment programs.

VISION STATEMENT
YMCA of Delaware African American professionals
are in key leadership positions throughout the
movement as a result of equality in career
advancement opportunities.

STRATEGIES

• Identify and secure financial support of the
  African American Leadership Forum initiatives and
  trainings from the YMCA of Delaware.
• Develop plans to ensure African American staff
  participation in YMCA certification programs.
• Coordinate a communication and information system
  for collection and distribution of data related
  to career advancement.
• Create, effectively recruit, and maintain a staff
  leadership committee to administer the African
  American Leadership Forum.

• Create and coordinate local, regional, and
  national events to foster career advancement of
  African American YMCA professionals.

GOALS

• To be recognized as a committee of the staff
  development team with in the YMCA of Delaware.
• Ensure registration of committee members and
  others in the national African American
  Leadership Forum.
• Develop an organizational structure and
  communication system to deliver the strategies of
  the African American Leadership Forum.
• Create mentoring opportunities for African
  American staff through the structure of the
  Leadership Forum.
