energy information. Topics include climate
change, energy consumption, renewable energy
processes, energy policy and planning, and much
more.

include scholarly research articles, one of the
best places to look for these resources is

How Green is Cook Library?
Archives Renovation
The archives and special collections on the 5th
floor of the library was recently renovated. This
renovation incorporated many sustainable
attributes.
Sustainable materials that are recyclable and
often that were made out of recycled or rapidly
renewable resources were used whenever possible
(examples include resilient tile made of
polyester resin, limestone and pigments rather
than vinyl, and carpet that includes 39 and 43
post industrial recycled content)
All interior materials specified to have low or
no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to improve
general indoor air quality and reduce off-gassing
that could damage archival items (examples
include carpet adhesive, paint, and stack end
panel substrate)
Existing construction was reused when possible to
minimize demolition required which saved money
and reduced debris that was sent to landfills
(examples include reusing walls, and re-staining
existing doors when possible rather than
replacing them)
