About Us

The Institute of International Trade, Kolkata
founded in 2005 with the aim to promote awareness
amongst corporates, policy planners and students
on issues relating to international trade and
intellectual property. There are host knowledge
vendors in the society but there is a serious
disconnect between the knowledge provided by them
and knowledge required by the industry to grow.
Institute of International Trade promises to fill
the gap by providing the most relevant knowledge

This course focuses on the concerns of
practicing International Trade professionals and

Directors Profile
Dr. D. R. Agarwal. Dr. Agarwal has been
practicing as Chartered Accountant since February
1982. He is the Visiting Faculty in Institute of
Company Secretaries of India. He has participated
in various international conference/seminars such
as 7th WTO Ministerial Conference in Geneva,
Nov-Dec 2009 and World Carbon Conference in
Beijing, Nov 2009. He has also participated in
various panel discussions on various topics
relating to International Trade, Intellectual
Property, Accountancy, Taxation and Economics
organized by various Chamber of Commerce and
other NGOs. He has written articles in various
Newspapers and Magazines occasionally.

Mentors Profile
Prof. Saptarshi Banerjee. He graduated in
Economics (Hons.) from St. Xaviers College. He
has over 26 years of work experience in
international trade with special focus on
export-import management and documentation,
shipping, logistics and supply chain management.
He is also a Associate Member of Chartered
Institute of Transport, London and also holds a
diploma in Foreign Trade Management from the
Institute of Export Management (affiliated to the
Institute of Export, London). Apart from day to
day management, he is regularly mentoring
business houses in shipping laws, procedures,
interpersonal and soft-skills, process
management, change management, management by
values.
