• ENGINEERING DESIGN A DUAL DEGREE PROGRAMME
  (2005-06)
• Conceived a new dual degree programme to provide
  the much needed leadership in Engineering Design.
  The first of its kind in the country.
• constitutes a B.Tech in Engineering Design and an
  M.Tech specialisation in Automotive Engineering
  Biomedical design.

• Program designed by the IIM Calcutta, IIT Kanpur

• interdisciplinary program with participation of
  the Departments of Mechanical, Metallurgical and
  Materials, and Chemical Engineering, and the
  Department of Physics
• with active cooperation of Indira Gandhi Center
  for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam.

M.Tech in Nuclear Engineering will provide
opportunity for the students to learn on thermal
hydraulics, chemical processing, materials and
physics aspects of nuclear power production.
Inplant training at IGCAR will provide experience
with reactor control and operation.

M.Tech programme in Petroleum Engineering
offereby by Ocean Engineering Department and
Civil Engineering is an interdisciplinary
programme designed to meet the need of highly
qualified manpower in the Petroleum Industry.

• Dual Degree (BSMS) programme in Physics.
• The first two semesters of the course will be
  common with the rest of the engineering branches,
  At the end of the 5 years, the students will be
  given both a Bachelors degree and a Master of
  Science degree in Physics.
• Entrance will be through the Joint Entrance
  Examination (JEE).
