Stuff You Will Learn

• Turn on your Computer..

• Left Click once on Start on the Task Bar. Do
  not hold down the mouse button.
• Move up to highlight Programs.
• Move right and up to Highlight Accessories
• Highlight Games
• Highlight Solitaire
• Left Click on Solitaire

Solitaire

• After you click on the word Solitaire, a new
  window will open.
• The Title Bar is at the top of the window. It is
  Blue.

Look at the 3 buttons at the top right hand side
of the Title Bar. Do not click on any of them!

The 3 little buttons on the right side of the
Title Bar.

• Run your mouse over all of the buttons slowly.
• What do each of them say?

The Minimize Button!

• Run your mouse over the button that looks like a
  minus sign.
• Click on it! What happened?
• On the Task Bar there is a button named
  Solitaire. Click on it.

The Maximize Button

• Run your mouse over the button that looks like a
  box.
• Click on it!
• What happened?

A New Button!

• The buttons on the Right Side of the Title Bar
  now look different.
• Run your mouse over the one in the middle. What
  does it say?

The Restore Button

• Click on the Restore Button?
• What Happens?

The Close Button

• Click on the Close Button.
• Oh NOmy game is gone.

Click Start on the Task bar and open the
solitaire window again!

Now, lets look at the Menu Bar!

On the Menu Bar, click on the word Game once
with the Left Mouse Button. Click on the Word
Options.

NOTE

• Click and Left Click mean the same thing in
  computers.
• When someone says click on something. They mean
  Left click.
• If someone wants you to right click, they will
  always say Right Click

Dialog Boxes and Option Buttons

• A Dialog Box appears.
• The white circles and boxes are called Options
  buttons
• You can click in any of them to change your
  choices.
• When You are done. Click OK

Click and Drag

• In order to move a card in solitaire, you must
  click and drag.
• To do this, select the card you want to move.
• Left click on it and hold down the mouse button.

• Move the card where you want it to go and release
  the mouse button.

Double Click

• Sometimes you will need to double click.
• Click the left mouse button quickly two times.

Now go ahead and play!

• Answer the questions on your sheet as you play.
• I will collect the worksheet at the end of the
  period.
