Mission Statement
  • The DTS Mission.
  • For business and organizations that are
challenged with protecting the safety and health
of their employees or customers in high risk
    enclosed environments.
  • Our mission is to fill the market need for
systems that can determine the safety condition
of a location, track workers, or individuals and
aid search and rescue teams in the task of
    locating victims after a disaster.

4
Business Concept
  • DTS Inc's primary product is a real-time location
service and environmental sensing system that
will allow for the monitoring of air quality and
safety, along with other environmental factors.
This system is designed using active RFID
technologies and "off the shelf" wireless and
odor/chemical sensors.  The product will allow
for the detection of harmful gases, and the
ability to locate individuals within the
    specified parameters.

5
Market Summary
  • The Market
  • According to current research or the overall
market there are over 900 mines in the US
and thousands of other mines globally .
  • Although our initial market is limited in size
and buying power government grants and the
renewed focus on mine safety offers an
opportunity for some potential quick wins.
  • The market for our location service can quickly
grow into other areas such as theme parks, ski
resorts, office building in large metropolitan
areas that have a potential for natural or man
    made disasters.

Milestones
14
Financial Plan
  • Our financial plan is based on raising 450,000.00
(USD) by way of private equity to create our
    prototype systems, achieve MSHA
approval, develop our control software, and
    establish a customer base.
  • We will achieve profitability in just over two
    years.
  • Our assumptions are based on a base cost of
58,000 (USD) per systems (For a 100 node system)
  • DTS will charge 84,000 (USD) for installation
and one years maintenance of the system
  • See handout for details

15
Competitive Edge
  • O.A.T.S. will be certified by the Mine Safety and
    Health Administration
  • O.A.T.S. addresses many concerns that have been
brought on by recent tragic events
  • A means to track and locate individuals within a
    known space
  • A means by which to monitor and report on
environmental conditions that could pose a risk.
  • A mechanism to help rescue workers quickly locate
    survivors of a disaster
  • O.A.T.S. will be cost competitive and use well
    established standards and protocols.

16
Resource Requirements
  • Currently DTS requires the following resources
  • A Wireless engineer
  • A contract geologist who understands the effects
of the rock strata our systems will encounter.
  • Technology that can counter and or exploit the
effects of the rock strata we will encounter.
  • Funding (To be determined)
  • A Distribution Channel
  • A demo system

17
Risks and Rewards
  • Our primary risk is not attaining certification
    of our product.
  • The reward if we overcome this hurtle is being
only the second product of this class to receive
    certification.

18
Key Issues
  • Near term
  • Creation of a working prototype system.
  • With out a working test model this project will
    not move forward.
  • Long term
  • MSHA certification.
  • With out certification our system will not be
    permissible in any US mine.
