Title: Electrical Circuits

1
Electrical Circuits
2
What is a series circuit?
  • All parts of the circuit are connected.

3
How many paths are in a series circuit?
  • Theres only one path for the current to flow
through. When one bulb goes out, they all go out
due to a break in the circuit.

4
What happens when additional resistors are added
to a series circuit?
  • A resistor is another light bulb.
  • The bulbs will get dimmer. The current must flow
    through more bulbs.
  • Increase resistors decrease current

5
How do you measure the current in a circuit?
  • Use an ammeter.

6
What are parallel circuits?
  • The parts of a circuit are connected to different
    branches.

7
How many paths are in a parallel circuit?
  • There are multiple paths. Its dependent on the
    number of branches.

8
What happens when you add branches to a parallel
circuit?
  • More branches decrease resistance increase
    current
  • This is because there are more paths for the
    current to flow through.

9
What instrument do you use to measure voltage?
  • Volts (V) are the amount of energy in a circuit.
  • To measure voltage, you use a voltmeter.

10
What do you k now about the circuits in your home?
  • From the power plant to your home series
  • To the rooms of your house parallel
  • Within the rooms parallel and series
