Plot

• Plot - a chain of related events that make up a
  story.
• Exposition - (initiating event) provides
  background information, introduces characters,
  setting, and conflict
• Rising action - complications that build the
  conflict and develop the characters
• Climax shows the highest point of action and is
  the turning point of a story
• Falling action events between the climax and
  the resolution in which the events and
  complications begin to resolve themselves
• Resolution the final outcome or untangling of
  events in the story
