Before Our Online System

• Manager creates job on paper or amends a word
  document
• Posts or e-mails to personnel
• Posts or e-mails to advertising
• Posts to Job Shop who print a set of packs
• Advertising send copy to local paper web team
  to publish on website

• Our previous school vacancy system had been very
  successful
• It all seemed quite straight forward

Modelling the Business Process

• While modelling the business process it
  transpired that each department had a different
  recruitment procedure
• We had to harmonise the process across the whole
  council
• Several personnel officers were locked in a
  room until they agreed
