Results of AMREF survey

• A baseline survey was conducted by GGM in
  collaboration with AMREF

• 70 of the Geita community had at least 1 malaria
  episode over the year
• 40 had more than 1 episode
• Results attributed to poor prevention measures
• 40 never used nets
• 75 never used insecticides

Challenges

• Low education of general population
• Apathetic attitude towards prevention by the
  general population
