I. What are Staffs ?
  • Staffs are musical lines, showing the pitches of
    different musical notes.
  • There are many different kinds of staff for
    different instruments

  • 1. Single-lined Staff for most percussion
    instruments.
  • 2. Five-line Staff for conventional instruments ,
    e.g. piano, violin , cello etc.
  • 3. Six-line Staff for folk music instruments,
    e.g. guitar.

II. What is a Clef ?
  • A clef is a sign written at the beginning of the
    staff to fix the position of one note.
  • There are many different kinds of clef

III. Treble Clef
  • A Treble Clef centers around the second line of
    the staff showing that the second line is the
    place for G3. Hence, it is also called the G clef.
