Who I am..

• I am a freshmen here at SHSU. Although at the
  moment I am undecided about what I want to major
  in I think in the end I might either major in
  Multimedia Authoring and Communications or
  Computer Science.

An Education..
is important for ones future. But many lessons
are also learned through experiences and
mistakes. College classes might be hard, but so
can the life and its something that I have
learned so far. I think you just have to know how
to balance studies and fun.

My type of music.
The reason I chose to do my presentation on this
topic is because music is something that has
really had an impact in my life. Not only has it
helped me get through hard situations but its
something I can relate to about a lot of
different issues and feelings. I used to play
clarinet for 7 years and now I am taking guitar
lessons so I can improve on that. My dad has
always loved music (sometimes I think he likes it
more than me) and I think its something that I
will love for ever. So here are some of my
favorite bands..

Taking Back Sunday

• Taking Back Sunday was started by Eddie Reyes and
  Adam Lazzara in 1999, from Long Island,NY.
• Two of their members, John Nolan and Shaun Cooper
  left and started their own group called
  Straylight Run.
• They are considered to fall under the category of
  Emo.
• They were the best concert I have seen live.

The Used
This band is from Orem, Utah and consists of the
members Bert McCracken, Jeph Howard, Branden
Steineckert, and Quinn Allman. They fall under
the Emo category. The lead singer screams so hard
that he gets sick on stage. Club owners usually
dont like that and dont call them back.

The Sounds

• From Sweden
• Consists of Maja Ivarson, Felix Rodriguez, Johan
  Bengtsson,Jesper Anderberg, and Fredric Nilsson
• Considered 80 s pop-punk
• Were so confident, they went on tour before CD
  was released.

• Consist of the members Chris Brown, Simon
  Ormandy, Peter Chanell, and Monty.
• They all dropped out of college to pursue their
  music career and are now signed to Warner Bros.
• Fall under Alternative.

Story of the Year

• From St.Louis, Missouri
• Members are Philip Sneed, Adam Russell, Dan
  Marsala, Joshua Willis, and Ryan Phillips
• They have been out for 10 years.
• Fall under Alternative Rock.

• Members Sean-Paul Pillsworth, Mike Saraceno,
  Bill Manley, and Justin Meyer.
• Not really mainstream, only signed to SideCho
  records (not a big record label).
• Have been on tour with Thursday and others.
• Their full length album comes out June 2004.
