Title: Technology in the Classroom

1
Technology in the Classroom
  • Technology is an integral component of my
classes. I have implemented student led lessons
using the Internet, researched topics with
    classes, created PowerPoint presentations for
classes and with students on an individual basis
and instilled basic computer skills associated
with various programs used in my classroom.

2
If I were awarded this grant
  • I would implement this technology in my
classroom on a daily basis in various ways.
  • Examples of ways I would integrate this
    technology are listed below
  • Thinking Maps
  • Word Studies
  • Character Studies
  • Information Literacy and the Big 6 (research)
  • Internet Research
  • Collaboration and Daily Lessons

3
Continued Technology Development
  • I plan to continue my development in the use of
technology in my classroom by keeping updated on
new advancements and trends in the area through
    periodicals and through professional associations
    of which I belong.

4
Technology Does Enhance Teaching
  • In a world full of technological advancements,
as teachers, we must enhance our teaching in
order to adequately educate our students.
Technology must be the tool that serves as the
    backbone of the curriculum.

Fourth of July by Marchette Chute
Fourth of July, Fourth of July.
Thats when the flag goes waving by.
And the crackers crack, and popguns pop,
And the big guns boom and never stop.
And we watch parades, and listen to
speeches, And picnic around on all the
beaches. And it usually
rains, and its always hot But
we all like Fourth of July a lot.
This poem will introduce our topic and we will
begin a discussion on the meaning of this poem.
Students will be able to fill in a bubble map
describing the 4th of July.

IN CONCLUSION I am pleased to be considered for
this grant. I feel that I have knowledge of
technology and I am always willing to try new and
innovative programs and activities. This will be
a learning experience for me however, I feel
children learn best when they are exposed to
different forms of media through educational
experiences.
